    Clock goes forward.
    Things get sunnier.
    Bikes come out of storage.

"Us cyclists are cool aren't we? Those pesky motorists in their cars are a danger though? Right? We're green and proud".

And the other nine months of the year how the fvck do you get to work?

And then there is the god awful awareness on the road, no clue about positioning, signalling, not pulling into the path of fast moving traffic (i.e. other bikes). Sweaty t-shirts strewn around the office to dry. You cycled 10km to work, how the fvck did you break a sweat. The pointless commuter races that don't last even as long as a 16 year old bloke with a porn star.

Summer cyclists, fvck off and die.

Summer? Where are you living? It was -1.5c when I left home this morning.
And no, I disagree, the more bikes on the road the better, its that many less cars.
    Welcome, fair weather friends!

We have a limited number of bike spaces in work and the only thing that gets me worked up is when I go to leave in the afternoon but find there are 4 or 5 other bikes leaning up against mine.

    Clock goes forward.
    Things get sunnier.
    convertible roofs come down

"Us drives are cool aren't we? Those pesky cyclists on their bikes are a danger though? Right? We're not green and destroying the planet".

And the other nine months of the year the roofs are up and the windows are closed

And then there is the god awful awareness on the road, no clue about positioning, signalling, not pulling into the path of fast moving traffic (i.e. other cars). Empty coffee cups left around the office waiting to be filled for the return journey. You drove km to work, you would have been quicker cycling. The pointless traffic light races that don't last even as long as a 16 year old bloke with a porn star.

Summer drivers welcome to the roads, Please watch out for the cyclists

Must say, as a driver, the ones who annoy me the most are the ones cycling 2 or 3 abreast. Happens all year round and covers all types of cyclist - including the holier than thou cyclist-snobs.

Am also a cyclist too before anyone murders me here! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,131 ✭✭✭Bambaata

But 2 abreast is perfectly safe and fine. If its unsafe to pass 2 abreast its unsafe to pass 1.

Fair weather cyclist here laughing at your snobbery.

I thinking of getting a pair of shorts with "CYCLING 2 ABREAST IS PERFECTLY LEGAL" written across the arse.

Anyway, cycling snobbery, down with this sort of thing. Tunney isn't even a real cyclist anway.

Due to Raynaurds I only get to cycle during the warmer (8 deg +)weather and that can be anytime of the year (mostly summer though). I also sweat like a motherfúcker on me 8.5K commute as I am always pushing to beat my best time. Pull your head out of your arse OP.

Driving at 80 kph on a motorway fast-lane is also legal - doesnt mean it's not potentially dangerous.

Not it's not. Driving in the "fast lane" is only permitted if you're overtaking. And if you're overtaking at 80km/h, then traffic by definition is moving slowly and therefore you're not doing anything dangerous.

Yes. You're absolutely correct! They should be in single file, thereby allowing excellent drivers like yourself squeeze between them and oncoming traffic.
Because that's not dangerous at all at all.

How about thinking about what you do for a change?

Commuter cyclists I hate you. You are not real cyclists like those who cycle for leisure and fitness. You only cycle because your too miserable to pay money for a car/bus.

    Only joking...................or am I???

His dastardly plan wudda worked too, if it weren't for those pesky Summer Cyclists.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,294 ✭✭✭Pigeon Reaper

I thought I had reached the apex of cycling perfection today as I swooped past a multitude of "cyclists".

Now I find my hopes of a professional A4 career dashed against the jagged rocks of truth.

Those elite athletes I overtook are actually not even cyclists but some type of migratory solar commuter.

I should undertake a research study on this new type of creature and it's mass migration which so many witnessed this morning.

This way we need no longer be taken by surprise when this occurs again in the future.

We could prepare by fitting some type of steering device to our velocipedes so we could conceivably go around these slower creature on their migratory route and thus avoid impediment on our time critical expeditions.

Is is possible that the slow speed is needed to conserve what little energy stores they have not depleted after the arduous trip undertaken whilst following clement weather?

Man you must have a helluva big ass ...

Only bad thing about more cyclists on the road is all those 'Tony the Tortoise' cyclists that I worked hard to overtake that pass me out while I'm stopped at the traffic lights..:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,416 ✭✭✭Icyseanfitz
