Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Burrda going with similar templates for both football and rugby, suppose it keeps costs down for them

Dissapointed that Leintser followed through with stripes on the home, away and 'home classic' jersey. The classic is a bit similar to some older jerseys, but the stripes still ruin it in my opinion.

The Leinster home one is a nice colour of blue. Not overly keen on the stripes though. The away one is very white, could do with a bit more colour.

I like the alternate jersey. I know it's just a subtle difference with the "strings"* going diagonally down the jersey instead of the wave pattern on the home shirt, but it still looks better for it.

I reckon if I am going to buy one this season, that will be it.

*Strings is how they're described on the Leinster website:
The four harp strings represented on the shirt signify Leinster, with the pattern then dividing into 12 to signify the 12 counties of the province and the strength they project when all the people of the province come together.
Another reason why marketing folk must die!

What do you even say about that Leinster press release?

We dont need 'strings' to represent the 12 counties. The fecking Leinster crest represents the twelve bloody counties, is that not enough?

    I think I'll invest €32 in this top/jersey instead:

Awful. It looks really cheap or something.

Also really don't like the blue shorts.

It looks like a Chelsea kit, rather than a Leinster one.

I don't like the home jersey, although I like it's colour, but I do like the alternate!

I think I might buy the alternate and the t shirt.

Why are the stripes different? The stripes on the alternate blend in way more than ones on the home jersey. If the home jersey had the same stripes as the alternate, I may have been okay with it. Although I would have preferred none at all.

    Blue is the Colour

Blue is the colour, football is the game
We're all together, and winning is our aim
So cheer us on through the sun and rain
'cause Chelsea, Chelsea is our name

The shorts make it even worse than I could have imagined :mad::(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,787 ✭✭✭prospect

I *think* that the Home one doesn't look as well in the photo because Cian has it tucked in and it is loose (bunched) around his waist.
The 2nd kit is outside the shorts and pulled down straight, which makes it look a bit better.

For comparison, Gordans 2nd kit looks a bit more naff to, because it is tucked in.

Still not 'cian' on it though

Maybe it'd looked better if healy on the ground?

Not sure which I dislike more, the home or the classic home.

I like the white one though. Straight 'strings' make a big difference.

Went into an elverys just there as I was walking by one to see them in real life. The home one looks a lot better then in the photos but the alternate is probably way nicer.

    Away version is much nicer.

This is Leinster's best kit for quite a while. I'm not a fan of wavy stripes across jerseys but these ones aren't nearly as bad as the harp or the splash of vomit across the front in recent years and the shade of blue is the traditional Leinster one.

If I didn't look like Casper when he's under the weather, I'd buy the white one.

    This.

Got one at lunch there. I quite like the home one tbh. The away one is even nicer than in the pics but due to a skin pigmentation issue, i.e. being Irish, I'm not able to wear it. The only real issue is the neck size, which is a bit on the tight size. You wouldn't want to have a big head for your body!

  • Administrators Posts: 54,098 Admin ✭✭✭✭✭awec

I mailed the Ulster Kukri ones this morning asking about our kit and what's the craic with it.

No reply yet, I've always found them to be pretty slow replying but will fire it up here when I find out.

Leinster Fan: I have to go. But if I find one single dog hair when I get back, I'll rub...sand...in your dead little eyes.
    Woodhouse: Very good, sir.
Leinster Fan: [pause] I also need you to go buy sand.
    Woodhouse: Yes, sir.
Leinster Fan: I don't know if they grade it, but... coarse.

New Leinster jerseys minus the models. Reckon they look decent enough this way.

This is great. The new Leinster jerseys aren't bad, but I don't like the way BOI has to dominate it. I guess you have to oblige the sponsors.

Edit: the SF alt strip is also not bad

Just noticed the Leinster test jersey is different than the normal jersey and the jersey in the model shots. The collar is different...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,681 ✭✭✭✭P_1

A few slight differences between the home and away kits.

The stripes and BOI logos are 'printed on' the home kit whereas they are part of the fabric on the away kit.

Also it seems rather than www.leinsterrugby.com, the new kits have @leinsterrugby on the back collars

An improvement for me on last seasons home and away tops which I really didn't like. I will probably buy the away top myself.

Both the test versions, you can tell by the sleeves. Nicer than the pro model I'd say but I usually buy the test versions of jerseys anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Does 'test ' mean the jerseys the players wear? I notice the above home jersey has a different collar than the one the players wear in the promo shots.

JustinDee when he was here said the test version of the Irish jersey wasn't really much like the actual jerseys the players wore so I'm not entirely sure if the same goes for the Leinster jerseys.

The test jersey I got in 2008 in the tin had the tag-line "the same as the players wear" but they haven't used any marketing ploys like that since.

They are a tighter fit and a different kind of fabric and the thick sleeve seems are different (possibly the neck too, I didn't look too closely at that when I saw it in person today) but I honestly can't tell you if they are identical to what the players wear.
