    Hi all,
Im looking at losing a few pounds and as a result im looking at getting some new ideas for breakfast... Basically i love my coffee(no milk 1/2 a sugar) in the mornings and would usually have eggs, bread(toast) or cereal... rarely all 3. At this stage im bored of cereals and toast and had enough of eggs esp. omelets. Would love people to suggest alternatives that are generally healthy... only thing is that I hate yogurt.

    Cheers

Ah. Was going to suggest Greek yogurt. I've started having it during the week with a little honey and it's delicious. I wouldn't be mad about natural yogurt on its own.

    What about a smoothie?

I don't have an exact recipe - I just chuck a banana into a blender with a handful of frozen berries and a dash of milk or a spoonful of yogurt.

I have a make shift fruit salad in the mornings.
Usually a banana, a pear, an orange, some grapes and a some yougurt on top.

i've been having a smoothie for breakfast for the past while. bit of coconut milk, water, flaxseed, oatmeal, flavoured whey protein, spinach.. every now and again i'll throw a frozen banana in there too

the frozen banana will mean you'll have to put in more water though, unless you fancy eating it with a spoon

fills me right up until lunchtime or after, the spinach turns it a green colour but doesn't affect the flavour.

    Oatbran!

    With anything.

My favourite toppings are mashed banana, cinnamon and dessicated coconut all mushed together.

Smoothie can be nice in the mornings. My favourite would be milk, strawberry whey, a banana and bluberries if I happen to have any. Could also throw some honey in if you can afford the calories. I never eat breakfast but when I need energy quickly on the occasional morning, I have Vanilla or Latte flavoured whey with milk and two spoons of instant coffee. Sounds odd but it really just tasted like coffee, love it!

Loads of things you can eat for breakfast, there is loads you can cook with an egg, to name a few - scrambled, fried, poached.
Same with oats: cooked and add fruit, nuts etc. I'd stick with eggs, meat, or oats for breakfast and avoid cereals(laced with sugars, salts)

here just a few idea's that I do.

    Pancakes:
    - 30g oats (or wheat bran)
    - 1 large egg white
    - 1 scoop chocolate whey(optional)
    - 20g shredded coconut.
*blend together, then fry in some coconut oil until brown. Top with some fruit, or natural nut butter.
** you can really add anything to the mix. Mix and change a few things around and experiment :)
I sometimes add fruit, nuts, raisins, or replace oats with coconut flour and use vanilla whey and mashed banana mix together and fry = yum.

    Egg muffins:
    - 2 whole eggs
    - 2 egg whites
    - mixed chopped peppers
    - chopped tomatoes
    - Chopped cooked chicken breast.
    - hand full of chopped spinach leaves
    - 1 tsp baking powder.
    * whisk eggs together, add other ingredients (again you can use any vegs, meats etc you want). Add mix to muffin baking try and cook in oven gas mark 4 for 20 mins. Great "on the go breakfast" or healthy snack.
