I'm interested to see exactly where they go from here as with last nights (disappointing) finale they left themself in a situation where they will have to pretty much detach themselves from the books completely (not that thewere ever that relevent). I mean they left the survivors with little reason to leave the prison, and the villain with no more resources to give the one.

Yeah sure they all walked out. The season is over for another few months.

Considering that he is under contract for 5 seasons and the crew posted a photo of him happily messing around with other cast members last night, I highly doubt Lincoln is going anywhere. He has it made.

I'm also failing to find even a sliver of a rumour of such a thing on the net.

It would appear that character development is what Robert Kirkman wants to see for the next series.

    From Rolling Stone:
Next season, Kirkman says, viewers should expect changes. "We're not going to slow things down, but if I had a criticism of Season Three, it would be that we didn't focus on character development," he says. "We're going to try to step it up a notch in that department."

He points to "Clear," one of the most well-received episodes this year, which focused on a road trip by Grimes, his son, Carl, and the samurai-sword-wielding warrior Micchone, as a template for the coming shifts in tone: 'We're going to focus on fewer characters per episode." Not coincidentally, "Clear" was written by new showrunner Gimple. Lincoln has had some discussions about where his character will go from here, but as he puts it, "I can't disclose any of them because they will kill me."

It will be very interesting to see how this pans out.

This series has turned into the biggest pile of garbage ever. I cannot believe how unbelievable its all become.

Few of the characters I care enough about to be bothered anymore. That scene with Andrea taking forever to pick up the pliers, talking as he was dying.....get a grip, its utterly and truly pathetic and I was screaming at the TV as each scene was played.

That Governor wouldve been shot by "his" men as soon as he started slaying his people. Agggh im so angry at what they have done.

Jesus if they slowed it down anymore it'd literally be an hour of people sitting there doing nothing, TWD is not a fast paced show in the slightest.

Speaking of Jesus, I wonder if he will be written into the TV Show. Don't have a clue what they will do with season 4. Such a shame Season 3 didn't end with the Prison attack from the comics. NOTHING in the finale hyped up season 4, unlike the arial view of the prison at the end of Season 2.

TVLine has confirmed that the AMC smash has issued a Season 4 casting call for the series regular role of “Roy Stark,” who’s described as a former army medic who is deeply haunted by his past — pre- and post-zombie apocalypse. As a result, he’s a bit of a loner, although he maintains a charming/self-deprecating/confident public face. The part calls for an actor in his early 30s to mid 40s.

If they are putting a "medic" into the group, then that makes Hershel pretty redundant.

    Kirkman on Season 4

    http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3226542/tv-robert-kirkman-shares-his-thoughts-on-season-4-of-the-walking-dead-along-with-the-season-3-finale/
On Season 4′s tone, “I’ll say that there are a lot of familiar elements that are remaining. Michonne is still around, Rick and his group are still in the prison, the Governor’s still out there… so there are a lot of things that are carrying over from Season 3 to Season 4, but I can’t stress how different things are going to be.
There are going to be some radical changes to those elements that are going to bring in a lot of new storytelling. While [Season 4] does seem somewhat familiar, it’s going to be vastly different from Season 3.

Calling it now, Hershel first one to die.

Was he the first to get bit in season 3 as well?

Kirkman seems to be the denominator here. I wonder how much say he actually has in the development of the show.

Tyreese, Sasha and Beth follow the Governor as 'regular' cast members for Season 4. Karen will be a 'recurring' character.

As a sidenote: Chad L. Coleman (Tyreese) tweeted that link just after I started following him and literally seconds after that he followed me back. :o Weird one, he has over 13,000 followers but is only following about 900.

And yet it continues to be a ratings smash , the novelty of it being a show with zombies seems to trump any misgivings in peoples minds . If a show in a more heavily populated genre (ie. vampires, sci fi , period) was as inconsistent as this one people would have jumped ship by now ,and that would be a good thing for the show as it would have forced them into making course corrections to regain those viewers. My fear tho is that because the ratings are huge no matter what they wont feel obligated too.

Does anyone know when the final episode was filmed ? how much of the season had aired at that point , did they know they were hinging the success of the episode as a whole on the viewers feeling sad over the death of such an unliked character ? or was the show already in post production when it aired and thus it was too late to change emphasis.

Larry Gilliard Jr. (D'Angelo from The Wire) has been cast as Bob Stookey. That's the name of the comic
former army medic who saves The Governor's life after Michonne goes to town on him in the comic.

TVLine has exclusively obtained the title of The Walking Dead‘s Season 4 premiere, and it points to both a lull in the zombie war and a time jump.

Roy Stark is in fact Bob Stookey it was a fake name in the casting call. Woodbury also is burnt to the ground by the Governor in E6/7. Reedus & Yeun are unlikely to appear in these episodes aswell

Yeah but it never showed Carl offing the zombie, the theory is that Lori's zombie is still roaming around outside the prison.

Little tour of the set. Nothing major given away, but if you don't want to know things like little adaptations they've made to the prison to make it more habitable, then don't watch! :p

Nope she ain't Robert Kirkman, Andrew Lincoln, Sarah Wayne Callies, Chandler Riggs have all said Lori is dead dead dead. Lori was eaten by the walker Rick killed. She is gone. FACT anyone who says anything else is lying or just plain wrong. She's not going to be seen again.
