Motors forum: why the username thread?

Often see names on motors forum and have no idea what they mean.

So how bout an explain the username thread.

Ill start, I have the same name as The Kaiser Chiefs lead singer : )

Used to regulary post on a couple of UK forums, named indicated I was posting from ireland. Just decided to stick with same name for here.

Some of the lads took to calling me guy-um after this. Needed a hotmail username years back so went with jimdagym because of it. Embarrassing now when I have to give the address to people.

Ba_baracus from the ATeam wasn't available.

Now know as Barry (MG UK called me a childish Kunt on their facebook page) on a lot of British Leyland sites.

Mine is a reverse portmanteau of the company name "maxis". I had a theory about competitions and online interactions with Americans a long time ago and had posted in too many places to not use it anymore, though on new forums and stuff Ive dropped it.

I couldnt think of one so I took the name of a CD in front of me...Auto Street 2000.

It eveolved from there as I locked myself out of accounts over the years.

Went to see the D'unbelievables about 20 years ago and Pat Short pulled myself and my old man out of the crowd "Tossy and Patsy hayes" tossy hayes stuck ever since for forums etc.

Couldn't think of anything and dr.kamikazi or dr.funkenstein where taken, so I just had to be named after Flander's mustache. There just had to be a doctor in there, because I am actually no doctor of anything whatsoever. :cool:

I stole my name from a multiplayer screenshot of the PC game Quake in a 16 page review in PC Zone magazine from 1996.
