Dieting for the umpteenth time! Yes I know its meant to be a life time change in diet that keeps weight stable but unfortunately I am a yo-yo dieter.

I aim to start with Atkins in order to clear my body of crap carbs so will do atkins induction for 2 weeks just to kick start it all. I hope to follow a low carb diet then.

Anyway starting day 4 of Atkins have been eating lots green veg with butter, coconut oil, eggs, meat, cream in my coffee, flaxmeal bread, smoked salmon, bovril and some greek yogurt. I am taking multivitamins and potassium supplements and I'm using mfp to record my food.

Nothing lost yet. don't think I'm even in ketosis. Bored already. Have 21lb to loose, well 28 lb ideally but 21 will do.

Sick of dieting and just adore food.

Not being smart, but if you are a yo-yo dieter, the why are you doing yet another diet? Without wishing to generalise, sustainable changes to diet are key to weight loss and keeping said wait off. To lose weight you need to look at your over all diet and see where you can make progress. You can do this while still eating well and adoring food. It's balance you're after, not aggressive restriction.
I would forgo Atkins and post up a genuine over view of your current diet and see if people can point you in a healthy sustainable direction.

Take up weights. Pack on a bit of muscle and your at rest calorie requirements go up. That means you can eat more without having to diet.

I know all too well that you are right, Its just that no matter what diet I try I cannot seem to stick to it. I crave food, I seem to loose all control and just binge. I have bought books on binge eating and had cbt for it but nothing works. I dont know what it would take to make me cop on.

So basically I am back doing atkins to kick start me and now I will follow low carb eating rather than the strict atkins until I loose a stone or so. I need to stop bingeing after that. Right now I could devour all round me....

That could well be the types of food you're eating though. Why not post up a typical day's diet and see if folk can give you a few suggestions? You don't really need to do anything special to 'kick start' your system, but perhaps begin an overhaul that will set you up on right path and make it easier to stick to without feeling like you're denying yourself. I don't know about you, but the second I tell myself I'm not allowed have something, that's the moment I want that something badly.

Why not just learn to eat healthily instead of dieting?

You already know that whatever weight you lose from Atkins and other nonsense, unsustainable diets will just be added on again plus a little.

Like you I love food, but really tasty food doesn't have to be full of carbs, falts, sugar, salt..

There is nothing wrong with treating yourself to a feed but as long as they are an infrequent treat.

Also you have not mentioned anything of your exercise regime.

You should post up a typical days eating and exercise plan.
