7 changes against Saints last Saturday. Most pundits have said it appears he is prioritising the cups.

he has to make 6 changes before every game they play every 3 days .If prioritising the cups hed have played hazard oscar ramires last night. The sainys game came 2 games before the utd game and at the time they had a little cushion for the top 4.

Great stuff, there seems to be a concensus that he is far from certain of his place no matter how well he plays this week(assuming he plays at all), some reckon he will only start at home, what do you think? You recomended that I get Hazard over Arteta and I think I will but if my plan is to let Sturridge go for Giroud next week I may consider Gerrard now, is Gerrard's position on the pitch dependant on whether Sturridge plays, ie does he play further forward when Sturridge is in the team or is it the other way round.

Ill be also doing sturridge to giroud next week unless suarez gets a yellow.Regardless of what team or formation is picked gerrard and lucas are the two deep lying midfielders its either henderson off suarez or suarez off sturridge.Gerrard has done reallu well to get the amount of points he has from that position but more often than not your relying on set pieces. Hazard has an extra game and plays further forward so even allowing for rotation fears I feel hes a better option

bib theory reckons sturridge starts at the weekend.

i need him to start, and i need him to score. desperately.

    i may even captain him.

He did play Ramires last night. He doesn't have to make six changes every game either.

He cant play the same team every game either though.By the end of the season they will habe played 20 more games than most teams in the league. Wait and see what the team sun is and im sure most people will think it stronger than last nites.Fergie never picks the same team but because they win most games nothing is said.He prioritesed last mon over sat and was right to do so this week its different.I

Balls to that, every silver lining has a cloud when you're playing this game:(

what proof is there that hes not bothered by cl qualification. He left hazard and oscar on the bench last night and took mata off on 75 mins. Chances are these 3 will start behind a front man on sunday.
    Just my opinion.

If i was playing 3 games and game one was to win a million euro for other people who dont want me playing for them in the first place, disrespect me when i play for them and i know i will not be representing them again after the game has finished.

    or

Game 2 and 3 i can win myself 1000 euro per game

I know i would be putting all my time and energy into game 2 and 3.

The bib theory has been wrong plenty of times.

Imo Sturridge shouldn't start and the starting XI should be the same as the Vila match.

Henderson deserves to keep his place.

    I don't pick the team though :)

I get what your saying but surely it will look good on benitez cv if they finish top 4 so he will also aim for that to help him get a future job.

Why everyone leaning to replace bale for hazard?

    I have mata | bale | cazorla | fellaini | Michu

If considering to replace him (after tonight's developements...) my choice would always be lampard

    - less risk of rotation
    - penalty shooter

    Just my opinion.

If you were to replace Bale with any midfielder just for next weeks game (using WC in GW33), who would you pick?

I'm leaning towards Gerrard purely because there is little risk of rotation in comparison to the rest.

My other mids are Michu Sissoko Cazorla Walcott (injured)

Ya i take all your points on board and im sure he would love to win the two cups and qualify for the champions league but he mite sacrifice one of them over the other if he has to. To be honest we dont really know.

Can't wait for weekly match day thread so..........
Suggested keeper and 3 defenders from the following
    De Gea (H man city ) or Bunn ( H Swansea )
Zabaletta Rafael Davies Dawson (H Everton) Jenkinson unlikely to play id say (A west brom)

I have the same keepers. Can't decide which to go for. Paddy powers clean sheet odds, say Bunn is 3.00, and DDG is 3.25, so not much in it.

I might go with DDG, as I feel United will be pretty happy with a draw. However I don't have a second United defender like you do, so you might be better to go with Bunn, and play it safe in case united conceed.

It's wrecking my head ! Think ill spread it around .....Bunn ......Rafael(be annoyed if he does not start then though)....... And after that I'm also unsure .....Probably Zabaletta anyway an then .......Davies ! Had Dawson in all week but now I'm unsure even though he is at home

I have Dawson also, and I think I'm going to play him. Everton are missing Fellaini and Pienaar, two of their biggest threats, so I think I'll give Dawson one last chance...he's on thin ice, poor returns recently.

Oh is pienaar still out ?

    Right
So Bale is due back in training before their game with City which means he'll probably miss only 2 games. That's a best case scenario though. Think I'll transfer him out. Who to get in though??

two chelsea midfielders is a bit risky imo when either one could be dropped. why not just swap bale for either gerrard or silva and keep walcott and the extra transfer for the double week. routledge could easily do something against norwich so he's not a bad alternative.

Yeah I'd probably do the same, but you should put Jenk (instead of Zab) in your starting line up on the off chance he starts. It would be a shame to miss out on a good chance for 6 points just cos you assumed he woudln't play!

Went with Bale out Hazard in,just wait and see Rafa the nutter will probably leave him out of the squad :)

Who do you guys think is more likely to feature for Chelsea tomorrow Mata or Hazard?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 589 ✭✭✭Steel Dog

Getting rid of Bale. The question is who to replace him with ?????

    Already have Cazorla.

    Silva, Mata, Hazard, Other ???

    Leaning towards Hazard.

Bale to hazard done and may give him the armband. If chelsea get to europa league final 15th may and fa cup final 11th may they wont have a gw 37 and will have two doubles between now and gw 36 or a potential treble gw.
