Touch site problem

I can't seem to navigate through the pages of a thread since the latest changes. If I open a thread all I get is the first page or the last I've viewed.

When I go into the next page of a thread, it just comes up "loading"

Same problem for me on Android. Today is the first day it's happened. I've cleared the cache & restarted but no joy.

It's only happening in threads. I can navigate through forum pages ok.

I can't reveal spoilers since the latest change and the second page of a thread doesn't load.There's a loading message and only the first post on page two displays.
Also, when I truly to a post and clear the text it adds attachments from that post to mine.
Chrome on jelly bean.

Having the same issue with spoilers in the Gaming threads, the tags are there but nothing in between.

Attachments appear under every post if there is an attachment on the page.

Much of the same problems for me too.
The second page of a thread just has a loading symbol at the top of the page and only one post shows up.
Also there's an image attachment on every post in one thread on The Walking Dead forum.

I'm using iPhone 4s. iOS 6.1.3
Already cleared cache and still no difference.

I see there's also a new "attach files" option on new posts now where there used to be an "attach image" option.

In saying that though, thread pages do seem to load faster. I was having the problem described earlier where I couldn't navigate to the next page in a thread, but that's fixed now it seems without me having had to clear cache, etc.


EDIT: No attachment bug on replies here at least, and thank god that awful courier new font is gone and the reply area has been reverted back to the previous more readable and clearer, sharper font style!

However when I click Reply to a post, I get "404 Page not found"

All issues still there for me on IOS.

Every post in this thread has an attachment and going to the second page of any thread displays loading and only one post. Refreshing that page then loads all posts.

Can't go to the next page of a threa. Running Android 4.0 on standard Google search.

Same here (sorry if it's been answered on page 2 cos I can't get to it). It's fine if there are a number of pages to catch up on as I can go to all the 'next' pages except the last one. When I click on the latest page on a thread it just refreshes me back to the top of the 2nd last page.

edit: When I posted this I was brought to the bottom of page 2 whereas I couldn't get to page 2 at all previously.

Another edit: If I click on the 'full site' link to see if it lets me move pages it brings me to the 'Home Page'. Before this it used to bring me to the full version of the page I was viewing on Mobile.

Same errors here.

And in the text box for writing a post if I put in more text than the viewable area, I cannot scroll up or down through the box.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed. I love the thread loading speed, but the thanks is a tricky one as it's, dare I say it, almost TOO responsive!

Side note: When I clicked "Reply" on this thread just now, it directed me to a 404, but on clicking back and then Reply again it gave the expected result.

Yeah I have to agree. You can no longer see how many thanks you got for a post either. That box is now gone. It's visible for other people's posts but not my own.

And still having the same issues with page loading and image attachments showing in every post after the initial image is attached.

Is anyone else having issues with posts effectively "disappearing"?

For example when I went to look at Rabies attachment there, when I clicked the back button on my browser (these issues seem to be cross platform at this stage so no point saying my browser is so and so), the posts that were following it have disappeared, until I press the refresh button and they "reappear".

EDIT: And now it seems that attachment bug I didn't experience earlier has just happened to me. All I did was click reply and clear text, same as I was doing all along. There shouldn't have been any difference between my earlier post and this one.

Safari settings > Advanced > Website Data > Remove All Website Data


EDIT: The attachments bug seems to have disappeared now, and I realised the difference between this and my earlier post which included the attachment, is that when you quote another poster that has the attachment on the end of their post, the attachment doesn't get included in your post.

If you clear the other poster's post, the attachment seems to be included when you post.

Hope this observation helps diagnose the issue.

The answer to that already Ella I can tell will be a resounding "No." from all involved in the changes, but what I would ask for the future is that before they make such changes, that they would test them in the lab first before unleashing them on the site and then having to deal with the clean up.

And an announcement thread in advance of rolling out future changes either wouldn't go astray as not everyone is aware of or au fait with the feedback and site dev forums.

I cleared all data and still have attachments bug. Came across another when logging back in. First time told me error with username/password, clicked log in again and it went straight through. Same password as I copied and pasted both times and there was no spacebars

The sheer amount of threads and combinations of post types means that we'll never be able to test them all with an update like this. Usability issues (e.g. the attachments bug, the first post loading when you change pages but no others) did not crop up during the testing phase, we tested for several days. For the record I am experiencing no issues on Android 4 with Chrome or Stock browser nor am I experiencing issues with iOS6 and Safari. That is not to say there aren't issues, every phone setup is different. When providing some bug reports please use Site Development and check if a thread already exists on the bug. Some URLs and screenshots are always appreciated.

Regarding the report post button it is the exact same size and located in exactly the same position. It as as easy to hit as the old touch thread view. We have made it easier to distinguish when you are reporting a post with the inclusion of the post you're trying to report above the report reason field.

Hi Danny - Appreciate the effort something like this takes.

Just for the record I'm using an Iphone 4S, ioS 6.1.3 and Safari. I've also tried using Chrome and behaviour is the same. So two browsers are having the same issues. If that's any help to tracking it down.

The Report Post button is not very aesthetically pleasing though.
The way the flag is crammed on the top of the word 'report' looks pretty clumsy.

If there is ever room to stick the pages / navigation up on top of the thread as well as the bottom that would be excellent. It can be a right pain scrolling all the way down to the bottom to hit next page in a thread if you've already read the one you're on / refreshed etc.

The loading issue for pages - can you provide a thread where this happens? I've tested a lot of threads on a few devices while in the office and I've two at my disposal here, no issues. It was definitely the most significant change we made and is critical to the usability of touch.

The viewing of your own thanks won't be resolved before we're back on Tuesday, it's not a bug per-se and more a design oversight; I can barely bug fix while off site, definitely not going design changing

There's always a chance, but I'm afraid the Boards tech team aren't responsible for the design of the touch site - there were very, very little design changes during the recent touch update, it was mostly the underlying server code that got a major overhaul.

I'm on an android (Samsung galaxy mini)... all is good with the touch site on my phone though- no bugs or glitches here.
