He'll have to make the cut first :(

he is not looking at ease out there off the tee, if it wasn't for some good up and downs from a few bunkers he would be a couple more over.

    won't be happening this week

front 9 is playing a more difficult than the back nine so all is not loss yet

Have to say, a bit tired of Rory like this again. We will see if he is under par on back.

    Watch- 66 tomorrow.

Ah, I think he is way too young still for that.

I don't know what he is at with his schedule - but is he playing way too little ?

    Still love watching him.

I love watching him too - he had 73 first time out last time and ended up 8th.

Do you not think, he has a bit more of a miserable head on him this year? :(:rolleyes:

Yeah, just not enjoying the game as much as he should. Too many cooks spoiling his broth would be my guess. One good tourney would turn the whole lot though.

Yes he even said something like that during FalseToothGate. But, how the F&^K can he have a mid life crisis at 23. Jaysus - nobody should be sad at 23.

Anyway - this has been done to death.

Caroline was apparently Rory's problem during the summer of last year but it's funny that she wasn't mentioned when Rory dominated world golf during the 2nd half of the season.

TW management would have offered him far better protection on his private life than what Rory's getting imo.
Look how much he got away with!!Even though it was supposed to have been common knowledge on tour as well.

I think Rory is a different type of person. He always showed his emotions on the course - up , down , happy, sad.

Whilst this makes him a more likeable character - it is not a trait normal to top people in their sporting field.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,322 ✭✭✭Dicky Pride

He's not playing enough golf. Simple as that. He got a few tournaments under his belt last year...then dominated for a while...and then tired himself out.

Nothing to do with clubs or age or relationships.

Life, young dont give a fook, getting older gives many fooks.

Just watching him finishing up his round.
    +1 (again) & tied for 87th place.
Maybe it was due to the wind but he seems to have shortened his back swing on his iron shots ?
Looks like that slightly careful swing that better players employ when their game is 'off', instead of the full sweep & aggressive tempo he has when he's winning.

    Fairways 8/14. GIR 11/18. 29 Putts.

    Lowry finished at -1.

I still think his game will move up into a higher gear come The Masters.

2 under so far today but this is on the "easier" back 9, hope he continues without a blow out, makes the cut and strong top 10.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 395 ✭✭TheRoomWrecker

he's starting to move in the right direction -2 through 7 holes and -1 for the tournament

Wrong direction again. Now level par.

Projected cut at -1. Rory still at even thru 16.

Yeah true- he is 28 yards to the hole so if he can get an up and down for birdie he will be on the cut line going down the last.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,597 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

birdies 17 - back inside the cut.

Must par the last at worst

238yd par 3 to finish, good iron and a two putt should be the order of the day

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 19,708 Mod ✭✭✭✭slave1

Has a 3'8" putt for his par.....

He has committed to playing Valero Open in Texas next week. He obviously knows competition rather than range time is better!

This course is no quail hollow.

Rory read my post last night and decided to enter the Valero next week.

he just birdied the 2nd hole, the same hole he has bogied the first 2 rounds, hopefully gives him some confidence.

Saves par with an up and down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,695 ✭✭✭ForeRight

5th hole: Drives into bunker, second shot to green side bunker, chips out to 8feet, puts for par.

Scrambling around here brilliantly. If he settles down now he should pick up 3-4 shots on the back 9

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,763 ✭✭✭redzerdrog

he scrambling very well and holed some serious putts so far

edit: has 11 foot for birdie hope i didnt put the splaws on him

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,695 ✭✭✭ForeRight
