How is this diet plan isit okay to follow?

    How's this diet plan? Could this work for losing weight?(about 2.5st). I go to the gym 3-4times a week. I'm not going to be eating dairy starting from next week. I don't want to cut wheat products as of yet but just reduce it . And no junk food . I'll probably look up some more meal ideas.

    Breakfast – tofu scramble , porridge with honey , omelette , egg with ham/vegetarian sausages and tomatoes


    Lunch – tuna / mackerel/salmon with lettuce and tomato, wholegrain pitta bread /brown bread ham salad (occasionally),

    Dinner – mash potato/sweet potato with meat & veg , quinoa with meat or quinoa stir fry , wholewheat pasta and tomato sauce & veg

    Snacks : oatcakes or ricecakes with salmon/hummus , fruit , dairy free yoghurt , soya cream.


    Drinks:Water, green tea , peppermint tea, orange juice. Mainly water .

    Go to this website and fill it out. It will tell you your caloric needs. Then calculate the calories in all that food. If it is less than the number the calculator gave you, bingo, you will lose weight. Nothing more to it.

    Have you worked out how much calories you are eating daily? and how much you should be eating?

    That website gives me 2585 calories not sure if it's because I didn't add body fat percentage other sites give me 1400/1200/1366 calories so I'm confused as to which one to follow . The 2585 seems way too much. I'm gonna stick to the 1366/1400cals.

    Is that good okay to eat?

    What's your current stats? Height and weight? It's impossible for us to tell without those numbers.

    Size 12 in clothes.
    Gym 3-4 times a week it varies. Doing cardio + bodyweights mix. Sometimes weights (shoulder press , leg press, ab crunch) depends what my PT changes it to.
    I have calcium tablets I can eat calcium containing foods .

    Thanks. I've put it through the calculator I linked and it's giving ~1900 cals for weight loss. This is with exercise set at "Little/no exercise". These calculators tend to over estimate the calories burned in exercise so it's better to do it that way.

    You can continue eating 1200 calories but I can tell you from experience, you won't last long. Especially with all the exercise you're doing. 1900 calories per day combined with the exercise will show results. Try it for 4 weeks, if it doesn't yield results, drop calories and try again. Honestly, the last thing you want is to end up being burned out after only a week or two because you aren't eating enough. This will only lead to a relapse into old habits and you'll wonder why you can't keep on track. You can do it, it took a long time to put ON all the weight, it will take a long time to take it back OFF. All the effort will be worth it, just remember that.

    Are you putting in 112kg? (Which I'm guessing is a typo!) Or 11 stone (154lb)?

    How do you make up the calories? I always end up only eating 1000cals . I've probably been in starvation mode then.

    I'll eat those sort of meals but healthy foods. I may cut out wheat at a later stage but for now it's hard with dairy already.

    You're right, I didn't even see the 11st. I am conditioned to see kg :) I'll redo it later.

    Yep that's the same calculator I linked to in my first post. Looks good to me anyway!
