On taking creatine with fruit juice - what about actual fruit?

People talk of taking creatine with apple or grape juice in order to get a bit of insulin to help it along while absorbing. There's also a general piece of advice not to take it with anything too citrusy as that causes a lot of it to be lost as creatinine before it has a chance to absorb.

My possibly silly question is, if I have no apple juice available (we don't tend to get it very often) how about just eating an actual apple straight after drinking my creatine shake? Since I started my cycle I've been doing this, just having an apple or two after drinking it. It's only just occurred to me to check whether this is effective or could in fact be counter productive, as I've also heard from a lot of people that you shouldn't eat a meal too soon after taking it in case you interfere with absorption.

My instinct is that a lot of this is probably nitpicking psuedoscience - after all, it's not as if prehistoric man in the wild was able to separate his dietary creatine from the rest of the animal he'd just hunted and eaten, and he was obviously strong enough to have survived the stone age :D Having said that, if there genuinely are things which increase or decrease effectiveness I may as well pay attention to them.

    Thoughts?

No need to take with fruit juice or an fruit etc. . No need to cycle it. No need to load it. 3-5g a day washed down with water off a spoon or throw it in your shake or whatever.

pure fruit juice contains fructose which is a sugar but doesnt cause an insulin spike like sucrose,dextrose/glucose
fructose also has a different absorption pathway than other sugars and is bad for you in large doses over time, causes raised fat levels in blood.

american 'fruit juice' usually has glucose and fructose added unless you go for the natural stuff

take it with whatever you want, just drink water as well.

Slightly off topic but people should really try and find out what level suits them rather than loading it up with 10g a day or whatever they think will work fastest.

I was taking 10g a day a couple of years ago, pissing like a racehorse every 15 to 20 minutes, it was ridiculous.

I went off it for 3 months then started taking 5g a day, same effect as 10g, pissing like a racehorse every half hour.

I now take around 2.5g a day (half a teaspoon), and I let it dissolve instead of just eating it with a bit of water to wash it down. I find it doesn't haev any negative effects this way.
