Hoping the Steal and things they have put in will actually make a difference. I found the programme dragged a bit last year

Credible judges at least in comparison to the Irish mess.....

As I've said before, it's funny that RTE and ShinAwil have changed one of their coaches but haven't really changed the format, while the Beeb haven't changed any of their coaches but have made big changes to the format.

I, for one, hope these changes work, and prevent the viewing figures from sliding like they did in the first series.

No doubt Jessie J hopes they work, too... :o:);):o:);)

(Yes, I know I bring her up every time I mention this show - but I do love her to bits, regardless how much hair she has on her head.)

Have to laugh at Sir Tom Jones you can tell most of the time he don't know the songs :p but the Welsh love him

    Jessie is very annoying

The northern Irish girl Leah(with the quirky dress sense), has a fabulous voice, kinda Kate Bushy sound. And Lem is brilliant, that was a great duet there with Jessie.

The UK version is phenomenally better than the Irish one. Great judges that give actual decent feedback and know what they're talking about and some incredible contestants so far.

This guy has to be my favourite:

    Whoa, whoa, whoa. Steady. :o:o

I'll admit that she isn't everyone's cup of tea - but I see no need to call her that.

    Nate James got through tonight.

I checked him 15 mins ago on wikipedia and it said
In 2013 Nate James will appear on UK hit TV show The Voice where he reached the second round of live finals.

I went back 2 minutes ago and it says

In 2013 Nate James will appear on UK hit TV show The Voice (and nothing else)

Interesting to see if he reaches the 2nd round of the live finals

That pair of girls - Nu-tama (??? -sp), have just become the most annoying thing on television ever.... Give me Geordie Shore, and every crap reality show on MTV over them.
I just want to slap them....

Surely the sickeningly sweet boyfriend-girlfriend duo are a million times worse? Absolutely nauseating.

Ah they are loved up - don't mind that. When they break up, it will be daggers at dawn:D

The other two are like that all the time, to me they are far worse.

The guy Will waited for wasn't half as good as her!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,324 ✭✭✭keps

She will probably turn up on BGT next week anyway - it's a merry go round

it will be interesting to see how many youtube hits she gets

she was by far and away the best performer on the show

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 612 ✭✭✭smurfs5

Jessie annoyed me so much sitting behind her chair. She can't sit in her chair like the others- always has to be the centre of attention.

Bronwyn was phenomenal. An outstanding talent and I was absolutely astounded that nobody turned.

Will mistakenly waited for an average singer and passed on some brilliant people. Rob Reynolds was another excellent singer who got away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,089 ✭✭✭✭LizT

I hate the way the coaches talk to each other "Are you going?" "Turn" etc (when the all still had places left). Danny and Will always seem to wait for each other to turn, it shouldn't matter what the other coaches think!!

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,558 Mod ✭✭✭✭yerwanthere123

Her voice was just so lovely and pure. And I loved the fact she sang in Welsh too. I'm getting to like The Voice a lot but this really reveals a flaw in the format.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,324 ✭✭✭keps

I think the format might be ok if each of the ' coaches' has an IQ of 10 or above.

Have you ever heard Will put 2 coherent words together?

Danny is such a dickhead - his ego so far up his arse that it's coming out his mouth

Tom J is existing in some type of botox twighlight zone

The 'money money money' coach just waits to see what the others do.

the format seems ok - but you need judges with knowledge and integrity

    Not on that panel

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 241 ✭✭shoos

Anyone notice how, for the first few episodes, everyone got long in-depth introductions, full performance and then full comments from the judges. Now in the last couple of episodes they just seem to be rushing through people, sometimes not even showing their full performance even if they end up getting on one of the judges teams?

It's like they're just not wasting time on the people who won't be going through the duo stage. Very strange.

While I don't deny that the judges don't turn for some really, really good singers, it can't be denied either that the ones they do turn for are still better than the majority of singers on the Irish version. :o;)

And am I really the only one here who likes Jessie?! I've already admitted that she isn't everyone's cup of tea - but just about every comment on her on this thread (besides the ones I've made, of course) hasn't been favourable... :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

The Welsh girl was excellent, would have been perfect for Team Tom. Will should have turned earlier, his last pick was not that great.

I do not mind Jessie too much, the only fault I would have is that her team is way too similar. Not too much diversity in it compared to Will's team.

Hard to pick a winner yet, the battles should be interesting.

I think Tom was the only one who understood her singing in Welsh and only Will was left to fill his team so no one else could pick her and he wasn't interested in her

You don't need to understand what a person's singing in order to realize they have a good voice though.

So glad I missed the Irish voice final (was away for a week)!!bad show:( At least the singers can Sing. The blind girl has just sung the professional actress singer off the stage:)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,921 ✭✭✭✭hdowney

She really did. I was worried for a minute that she wouldn't be picked cos she doesn't necessarily 'move' on stage, but her voice does everything needed for her. Delighted for her

I wasn't really paying attention... what happens if a coach picks another coach's 'reject?

Do they have to dump one of their other 'own' acts?

I'd guess three will be battling then

No battles for Danny's acts tonight

The Voice will move its live shows to Friday nights to avoid a clash with Britain's Got Talent.

The BBC has confirmed that the first quarter-final of the current UK series will be brought forward to Friday, June 7. The final of ITV's Britain's Got Talent is due to air on June 8 and would have resulted in an overlap.
