Recommended fight and fighters for a noob

So I've only recently started watching ufc/mma and was wondering what fighters I should have an eye on. And what great fights would I be able to see on youtube? Obviously I know silva, Jon bones and GSP already. Nice 1...

Plenty of great fights/fighters if you look around the Internet.
I'd highly recommend watching some WEC stuff aswell if you get a chance. They had some great fights like Cerrone v Henderson, and plenty more!
And most of the WEC fighters are now in the UFC, and a few are champs/ top contenders.

GSP is prob the least exciting fighter to watch.

Any Cerrone fight is class...he always throws down. Some mentioned the diaz fight, it was prob cerrones worst performance. He fought Diazs fight.

Carlos Condit is great to watch. He had a class fight with Hendrix only last week. BjPenn back in the day. Shogun, Rampage from the pride days.

Hendo vs shougun is prob one of the best fight in recent years.

It all depends what you like.

Cerrone vs Hendo 1st fight is one of my favs!!!

UFC & Pride fight have all been mentioned.

Try to check out some of the Zuffa era WEC cards too. Some awesome cards, especially after they got rid of the bigger weight classes and just had 155 and down.

Yep, Aldo Faber is a classic if you're a leg kick fan.

Miguel Torres used to be a beast as well, sad to see how far he has fallen after Bowles knocked him out.

I got into MMA about 6 years ago, but never followed it properly until 4 years ago. I managed to find a source of all numbered UFC events from 1-100 and watched all of these in chronological order. Luckily, I found these at the start of summertime, so it was when my TV shows ended for the season that I had time to watch them. Amazing to see how it evolved.

If your interest keeps up, you got plenty of entertainment ahead of you.

Or backwards it went ....................... I have the first 6 VHS tapes of UFC nearly worn out. Now it's just another sport especially the way UFC is run now. For the Op check out Pat smith 'v' Scott Norris UFC 2. Case closed.

For from a display of skill, but for the lulz, watch some of Bob Sapp's early K1 fights. How somebody who is famous for being big, with little skill and zero cardio, managed to defeat the likes of Ernesto Hoost (twice) is interesting to watch.

There are a lot of fights on YouTube but many UFC fights get taken down fairly quickly.
There are a number of other sites though, where you can watch practically any full fight you want. These aren't strictly legal though.

You can find almost all strikeforce and pride fights on youtube actually.

One trick I found to get some of the more obscure Pride fights is to find out a fighter's name in japanese and then search for that

BJ, Hieron, Hughes fights. Before the UFC he got nicknamed rush for running through guys.

My suggestions for TS off the top of my head.

Nogueira is my favorite fighter and he has been in some classics.

Nog/Barnett fights, Nog/Cro Cop ,Nog/Coleman, Nog/Sapp

Some nice beatings and KO's to check out. Cro Cop vs Igor, Waterman, Herring. Igor's KO of Bueno is a must. Arona/Sakuraba, All Wand/Rampage fights.

Newton/Sakuraba, Frye/Shamrock , Frank Shamrock/Ortiz , Rua/Nog are great fights.

Totally new to watching MMA and haven't seen too many fights all. But I searched this one out and holy hell, the first round is nothing short of unbelievable. Can see why this sport can hook you after watching that. It had everything.

I agree entirely. He was great to watch when trying to make a name for himself. Now it's all about not loosing, which I understand, but I prefer guys who throw down.
