    Hi,

I'm sure this is a very simple question but I haven't been able to find an answer online. Probably because I'm searching the wrong terms or something.

Basically, I was on holiday there a couple of weeks ago and gained a few pounds. I ate sensibly but drank a lot so my calorie intake was a hell of a lot more than usual! Anyway, after a week of being back to eating normally (healthily and within my recommended calorie intake) and exercising, those extra pounds are gone.

I know weight gained quickly (like holiday weight) can be lost quickly when you return to your usual routine. I have no idea how, though! Anyone?

Sounds like the weight you gained was water weight (water retention) gained from the drinking. Which is generally lost quite quickly.
