    Hi There,
I intend to carry out some repair work on a 19foot sheelin lakeboat and trailer i bought second hand a few years ago and would appreciate some advice.
Firstly regarding the tyres/wheels of the trailer. I would like to buy a spare wheel in case i get a puncture and have no idea what one to purchase. What is the best method of ascertaining trailer wheel sizing dimensions or are all boat trailer wheels a standard size?

Secondly regarding replacing the winch and strap what would be the loading requirement for my set up in kgs?

The lakeboat timber needs a good sanding and re-varnish-what are the best products for this?

    Any advice greatly appreciated?

Indespension should have all the parts you need for the trailer if it's factory made http://swords.yalwa.ie/ID_103145392/Indespension-Parnell-Trailer-Centre.html the wheel size should be on the tyre or you could bring the wheel up and they will match up the tyre size, they are cheep enough so it might be better to buy two and keep your old one as a spare. If it's a homemade trailer they might have used a 10" mini wheel.

The straps start at about 1000kg breaking strain plenty for your boat.

For sanding I like to use an orbital sander but if your boat is clinker it might be easier with a block sander or a mouse, for varnish I like international schooner gold but the choice is yours there are lots of good makes out there.

No problem, it might also be worth your while getting a new set of bearings for a few quid and keep the best of the old ones as spare.
