So it's happening people!

We're going to have the woolshed for a Friday night, with xboxes provided by the pub there to play on while running some FT5s which will hopefully be streamed for once.

The main set up will be my own lagless set up though and on a projector for all to watch.

Hopefully this will be on the 12th of April, but we've to dot the i's on that to be sure.

So why am I starting this thread, if I don't yet have solid info? I wanted to get ideas on which ft5s you'd all like to see. Which games too!

So if you've any suggestions or ideas or any fights you'd like to see, let me know here.

Also they have a gdlk pizza deal with a pint, nice to nom on while watching people beat each other up!

I am so very much on board with this. SSF4 AE and UMvC3, and maybe Darkstalkers, depending on whether it takes off or not.

Every deadline at university was a race through the submission room doors where I'd slam the coursework on the bench with 2 seconds left to spare.

Any room for a total newbie at this thing? I've only recently started playing with any kind of seriousness and I'd love to get involved in Dublin's fighting game community.

Of course! This is a great chance to meet the scene and get to know a few people, put names to faces and so on. This is much more about the socialising than the gaming. I'd also strongly reommend checking out the Casuals threads that pop up a few times a week, thats your main stop for actually getting playing a few games offline.

Sweet, I just hopped on the net to look for a local scene after a frustrating half hour of disgustingly laggy matches online. I'll have to invest in an x-box compatible stick at some point though. I'm using a crappy FS-3 on my PS3 at the moment.

Just to confirm, the venue is booked for the 12th. No cost to come in!

Winners of their fights will receive a pint or 2 to lord it over their vanquished opponents.

I'm hoping to announce some fights in the near future- I'll probably do 4 FT5s, 2 SSF4 and 2 Marvel.

Well, I'm even more out of practice than usual (actually, genuinely just finished week 4 of chemotherapy, with 2 more to go; it's just preventative. I lost a bollock but I'm cancer-free as far as anyone knows; 60% chance of recurrence without the chemo, 5% with, so no-brainer).

Upside; plenty of free time for the recovery and I'm free to make it down to this. I'd love to get some casuals in and that but I'm not really up to scratch at any game right now... however, if anyone would like to play in either a game picked blind, unknown to both of us, by a third party (some obscure mystery thing, presumably), or if someone just wants to play me in anything; ANY game, and I have to learn it and get good enough by the 12th, I'd be up for that. I will definitely be up for casuals and boozing, anyway.

Congrats on the succesful chemo, hopefully that **** stays away for good. I could play you a bit depending on what console you play on, I'm new and relatively useless at AE, I also have absolutely no idea what I'm doing in Marvel so that's another option. You could get some nice free wins out of it :P

I'm still up for taking any challenge. UMVC3 would be my least favourite choice since I have to get my Xbox hooked up to practice but if nobody wants to challenge me to try to get competent in any other game, I'll play. (I played UMVC3 for maybe a week when it was new, and I wasn't very good).

You can probably get a better taker, though.
