    Hi,

    I have a toshiba netbook and have given my cousin in hospital a lend of it with a ton of movies and series except when she plays them the sound is really high pitched and the voices sound like the chipmunks. I have played it through vlc, windows media, quick time all with the same problem. I downloaded a ki-lite codec pack but I dont know what to do with it. I really want to get it sorted for her because she is watching the walking dead with chipmunk voices which isn't very zombie like!!

    Cheers Sarie

    The most probable cause is a sound effect being selected in your sound settings.

    Control settings -> Sounds -> playback -> speakers(properties) ->
    Enhancements -> Disable all enhancement -> apply

    hope this works
