    Let me get this straight.

    You win lunch.

In return, you need to give up your day and write a sales piece glowing about Opel?

I dont mean to sound glum, but thats a fairly lame prize. I wont enter, just in case i win!

If it's lunch in Ramsey's restaurant, then that's a pretty good incentive by itself. If you get a nice day, it's rather pleasant to sit on the terrace, over looking the lawns, tucking in to a nice steak, at some elses expense.

Getting to blast someone elses motor over the Sally Gap is a better way to spend a Friday afternoon, than sitting in an office counting the minutes until you can leave for the weekend.

I'd love to put the little hatchback through some paces for a Friday afternoon, I could make my own way out there too, forget the lunch, can we work out a deal?

    Lacks what :p

I should win because so far i'm in a minority that said they want to test drive the car and have the day out :D I already drive an Opel and want to compare the different cars :)

I would love to do this and take a nice test drive. Its actually my birthday that weakens so a nice little present from Opel would go down well. I can't afford to go out and celebrate this year so this would be it.

I love small city cars and actually did some designs in college for some as part of my product design degree. Would love to see what this new car is like compared to some of the other city cars I looked at while researching mine.

PS I learned to drive in a Corsa, my girlfriend now drives one and I have always liked the astra, it's on my list of possible cars once I get a job.

You mean that what we post here constitutes the competition entry?

    OK

I was a loyal Opel driver for 25 years and loved them, but then I changed over to another maker. Opel deserve the chance to win me back!

    why I should win.

I've enjoyed the entire driving experience from the very beginning. I wouldn't settle for a boring car as I spend so much time there. I appreciate the little things in modern cars like one touch electric windows, parking sensors and automatic lights.
A smooth gearbox, sharp styling and fun road manners get my attention. Opel have clearly had an injection of energy in the last couple of years, I'm interested to see their latest offerings.

I've been to the Geneva Motor Show to check out new cars but i'd love the oppertunity on my doorstep.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

    Why I should win:

I love cars. My entire family have been loyal Opel buyers for decades but I never caught on. I drive different brands. Since the release of the insignia however Opel have had a turning point, at least in my mind. I'd love the opportunity to test drive their range and write about my experience. If theyre good, I might even buy one as my next car. Would be a great day out!

    Why should I win...

was rushed to and returned home at 2weeks old in Chevette, brought to school in Ascona 1.3(plated 635TZU), at age 10 a might have hit mirrors of dads cavalier(blamed brother !!), Dad had Opel-Lotus Carlton 3.6TT beast and i still have access to it now in 2013, fun is understatment), learned to drivin '92 vectra 1.6 and 1st car was '95 Astra 1.4 ... we had a Rekkord too but cant remember much but it was black and big(i was still small) - and how some of my family weren't named - Omega/Vectra or GT i would not have been surprised.

    Why I should win...

Just put my money where my mouth is and ordered a GTC with practically every option ticked. My problem is that I don't think I can wait much longer but this would go a looooooong way to helping with the wait:D

when is the draw taking place ??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,272 ✭✭✭✭Atomic Pineapple

    Why I should win....

Because I'll write a glowing, over enthusiastic, top gear-esque entertainment skewed long over the top but positive review of the car(s) no matter what happens. ;)

Who needs a soul anyway :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,634 ✭✭✭Hoboo

I think I should win simply because I need some cheering up. Im unemployed over a year, lunch to me is a cheese and crisp sandwich, and I still drive my first car, a 99 Astra.

That makes me available, an original Opel driver, and in need of a good feed.

i need to win this in order to recommend to the OH what car should be hers next

i also think i should win as i am unashamedly willing to pimp your brand to all and sundry for an indeterminate period following the execution of aforementioned prize.

i will not however get naked for any promotional reasons as it would be too much of the sexah and overpower the brand message to the point of oblivion.

People seeing me drive your cars will make them want one instantly, so much so i recommend you give me a credit card machine for taking deposits every time i stop in one.

I promise not to modify or "improve" your cars in a top gear fashion in a nearby garage .

I am willing to entertain the idea of ferrying about a classy lady as part of this testing business if she can remain concious in close proximity to one so sexah

I furthermore promise to stop writing drivel in the future to win competitions

i think paul above should win too as he has been a devotee for so long.....

I'd love to win this prize. I've my full licence over a year now and I'm graduating from college this year. Once I start work in September, I plan on buying my first car. If you gave me the opportunity to fall in love with one of your cars on a Friday afternoon, I may be tempted to buy a brand new one!

I also look after the younger end of the market!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,214 ✭✭✭dinneenp

beacuse I'm in the market for a new car and this could push me towards Opel.

I think i should win this prize as i am an opel fan and have been for many years. My previous opel cars have been the vectra gt,omega 2.5v6 ,and the opel frontera.I would also enjoy test driving the current models and writing about them.

I'm on the market for a new car. - Now it is your turn to show that you are looking after your potential customers :D:D and that you want to hug potential customer's $$ :pac:

give me a prize please and I will add some points to my stats :)

Thats why I should win !

I crashed my corsa into a barrier on a flyover going over the new Ennis/Gort road on an icy morning & my OH bought me what can only be regarded as a German bus to replace it.... I deserve to test drive a nice new opel just for the parking trauma I have to suffer and mmmm, lunch - I can't afford lunch with the cost of petrol in my current not so economical gas guzzler ....

i still drive my opel kaddet 1990 world cup special edition and may think of upgrading, possibly. does the new car play tapes?

As someone whose only really started learning to drive properly over the last week or two, I'd like to win this prize as I think I'd be well suited to it.

Although I'm not really much of a car/motoring person and I'm almost guaranteed to never be able to afford a new car or justify purchasing an Opel ADAM, I believe me winning would be the right choice. My lack of knowledge and experience with driving means I've really only been in one or two car's driver seats. This means I could make exaggerated claims like "the best car I've ever driven" and have them remain factual at time of writing (if the Opel ADAM has two wing mirrors the same colour, then it beats my car straight away).

Along with writing a glowing review for the Opel ADAM ( ;) ) my lack of driving experience means that me getting over-excited in someone else's car is practically guaranteed to end in a national media story, ensuring lots of inadvertent Opel advertising and an opportunity to show off the vehicle's safety features in a real-world situation.

To top it all off, I'm also a professional photographer, and I'd be happy to take some high end photographs of the car during my time with it, submit them to Opel, and wait for them to be used in some way without permission so I could send an unexpected hefty invoice to the company (picture a flying newspaper with a headline of "Opel stimulate local economy", etc.).

And who knows, if the ADAM turns out to be the amazing driving experience that it's promoted to be, I very well may put the bare minimum effort into informing all of my fellow boardsies on the Motors forum (where my opinion holds no weight whatsoever) what an "amazing" (wink, wink) motor it really is and how they should sell their current '99 Micras and upgrade post-haste!

Alternatively, if you wish, you can PM me with a €25 voucher code for JustEat.ie, and we'll agree a date where I'll post on here pretending I've just had a great day out with Opel driving the ADAM. I'll forward on some photos of myself with a white backdrop that you can cut out and drop me into photos where it looks like I'm driving the car and having a great time.

I look forward to hearing from you.

I have owned and loved many many cars but never an Opel. And I have never been asked to write a review of a car, could have great fun with that. So pick me and I'll give it a lash!

I deserve to win this -
    It's 17th March today - I'm in work.
I was up at 6am scraping ice off the windscreen, I was alone in the world, like a post apocalyptic scene where
I was the only person left alive. Not one other person, except the one twat that who pulled out in front of me coming out from a side turn.
I mean, the entire road was completely empty, not one single person in sight and he still manages to cut very close.
I'm feeling sorry for myself, I deserve to win.

It would be a fantastic day to spend driving the new Opel range. My last Opel was a '95 Corsa which was stolen and burnt out in Southill. That Corsa was a dream. 1.2 litre, was 15 years old when I bought it. It had 22,000 miles on it from the previous owner (an elderly lady) who serviced it every year with my local mechanic.

It is sorely missed. I'm currently driving a good old jap mid 90's bombproof car but, would relish the opportunity to drive a modern car again. The last 4 years I've been in 90's cars and my only chance of been in a modern car is a taxi ride which usually lasts a whole 5 minutes.

Imagine my joy when I get to spend the whole day driving new ones, behind the wheel. My promise is to be genuine in my review though my excitement to be in a new car would be hard to contain.

I would love the opportunity to drive and review the Opel Adam. I am interested in cars and although I have driven a fair few `superminis` I have never driven a `city car` and would love the opportunity to try something new.
I currently drive a ford mondeo but given that my wife drives an MPV and I rarely have any passengers in my car I am beginning to question the need for such a big car, particularly given the times we live in; with the high cost of fuel, motor tax and insurance. Maybe its time for a change....
Also, throw in a VXR and a day in Mondello and I will write whatever you want!!!!!!!!!
