Did you get a self fill pump? I bought a 400l one last year and still didn't figure out how to use the self fill.

Yep got the self filler too, haven't a clue how to use sprayer never mind self filler,

Set the pressure gauge find a field that you know the size of and that the sprayer has the capacity to spray completely fill the sprayer with water say 20 gallons per acre and its a 5 acre field then 100 gallons and off you go if you have half a tank of water left then slow down the speed if you run out with half the field left to do you need to speed up You should have got a pipe for filling attach it to the point and there should be a setting on the controls but you ned a few gallons of water in the sprayer first.

On a side note anyone any idea where I can source a rim 16 1/2 inch 6 stud centers of studs 8 inches its of a real old dung spreader.

Your lucky your in work giving loads a rain for this evening and night the spray would only be wasted.

I have cows in a field that needs topping when they are finished which will be thursday but if we get the rain that they are giving it will be too wet to top same as last year Thinking of topping now and leave the cows there until Thursday anyway.

Yep I was close to picking up one of them sprayers last yr, cash tightened up then so didn't bother, but on hindsight, don't have the time either, jobs keep stacking up, much easier to call the contractor and be done with it. Life is too short as is no to mind spending every walking hr a slave to the farm. Having said that what the hell am I doing back on boards now

On another note, fooking finally finally got my DEP payment from last year!!!

But by evening the forecast is giving rain, vet back later in the evening to read Saturdays test.

I had same issue. Rang dept ............. waited on phone, waited on phone, waited on phone ............. then a nice lady turned up and sorted it:cool:

Which brings me to another question. When we get to selling suckler weanlings in the Autumn, will we have to produce a cert to say BVD clear?

Shouldn't have to. Scanning in cards at marts looks up all animal data for that tag no. It automatically says on screen if it's clear or not.

    But if selling private???

Buying private usually means you know the person and can ask for vet details anyway, well, usually it does.

you wont get a movement permit unless the animal is bvd clear.... spoke with a lady the other day, she has not bvd tested anything yet this year:eek: says she cant afford it, yet she had a wad of cash in her pocket

on the ICBF website you can also print off a copy of the BVD results and attach it to the cards
