i spent the evening searching for a non existant Heifer. I thought i had dropped over one more than i had. after 3 hours of searching through fields, neighbours fields and checking the boundary fences i decided to go home and count the cards and check herdplus. i feel like a complete ass, but i picked a lot of stones while i was getting p1ssed on.

I was convinced we lost a weanling a few years ago, bought 7 together, 6 charolais and a limi. I forgot the limi and taught I bought 7 charolais. spent a bit looking for him as it was on a crag but gave up soon enough. About 9 months later had this batch of bulls into slaughter and when I pulled the cards my limi suddenly reappeared, talk about kicking myself.

had to bring the dog to the vet today, she had lost all power in her hind legs. Thought it might be poisoning but after a few hours the vet concluded it was epilepsy, did anyone ever have it in their dogs or how did it work out. The vet is getting in medicine but at the price of it i,m just not sure how attached iam to this dog. vet reckons it will need it for the rest of her life. any help?

My dog is nearly nine, is with me constantly , loves life, loves work in fact I prefer her company to a lot of people I can think of!
If she needed the vet I wouldn't care what it cost or what effort it took to get her right, so I think you might have answered your own question :)

Went to the NSA Sheep Event up here on monday and part of it was a sheepdog auction. They had a field beside the event and brought out 6 blackface ewes and then each seller showed off their dogs working. well jaysus what an embarassment for the most of them, there were dogs running through the middle of sheep, dogs biting sheep, chasing the sheep and others lying on their bellies looking at the crowd until their owners walked up to them. these were men who had the dogs advertisied as great outrunners, very biddable, will work cattle blah blah and they were being bid £500 for them. There was one dog which was a full brother of the Meg bitch which made £10,000 at skipton and he was the only dog there that you would even consider taking home and he was being bid £2500 for him and got thick and wouldn't take it.
Seriously i wouldn't have wasted the price of a bullet on the most of those dogs, went home and looked at my oul dog and thought you're worth serious money oul fella.

how the fcuk can o driscoll be dropped from the lions team, i mean gatland might as well pick the wales team, very hard to support that sort of crap

if there was another ready made captain then he could have being dropped as he isnt performing. Thats not to say either of the other centres have performed either. Considering there isnt a captain in the team it seems strange. Gatty has 9 losses out of 10 games against OZ with wales and Loins, NZ job no seems far away from him unless he pulls a miracle and wins on saturday

yes and alun-wyn jones as captain and he hardly ever selected him as wales captain, o driscoll is better than davies any day even on one leg and blind

DAZ is mighty for keeping white tails of ponies/horses white. It was a tip given to me by a lady who shows Connemara ponies and Irish Draughts!

I have a red setter that suffers from occasional fits also. He was dumped outside our house many years ago probably because of the fits. His quality of life is good and the vet said unless I think he is suffering to leave him alone. He is about 6 now and probably fits every 4/5 weeks.

Personally i don't think O'Driscoll has been playing well for the lions - and i thought he was very average last Saturday - but then so was everyone else

I think you have to hand it to Gatland in some ways - his team didn't perform last week and he has made a lot of changes to pick what he thinks is his best team for this game. The easy option would have been to have O'Driscoll as captain and roll out the same as last weekend
    - with inevitable same result. As a whole team this weekends team is much stronger than last weekends - a better team

But Gatland has shown some balls and i really admire that in a manager - it might not work out for him but well done for at least having some balls to try it

O'Driscoll has made more tackles than davies who has been a lot worse and in a big game hes the one person ud want in the team, he doesnt get much chance to do anything in attack when they keep booting the ball

Very good article in Indo today saying how Gatland hasn't played at all to O'Driscolls strengths on this tour.....however he was very poor last week, should at least be on bench.

Some serious heat for the country next week. Looks like the best haymaking weather for years.

Hoping to knock hay on Friday for baling on Tuesday, hopefully enough time and it will get some good cooking time, heading abroad for mates wedding on Wednesday so if its not fit on Tuesday will have to organise some troops to get it saved!

On at least 3 occasions on Saturday poor plays by o Driscoll lead to significant scoring opportunities for the ozzies, although not all were taken. A couple of poor kicks and a couple of lose passes

Davis is also playing out of position, the work rate of o Driscoll will be picked up by Roberts, and others. This is a much better team

There is no doubt it's a tough call but that's what managers are paid the big bucks for

Personally I would have had him on the bench I'd sau

I let a dairy cow off to grass with 2 month old white bull calf tonight after 3 days in shed and by god was she fond of him licking him and looking for him when he was racing around the field... great feeling and she will make some job of him as she has serious milk

great relief to me, some comparison to last cow I tried it with , she never ever in a month of sundays would stand for last years calf to suck

had a young heifer there a month or so back calf, she was under a year and a half so when i went to register the calf online i got out the form that the vet has to stamp, vet stamped it and says they sent it to dvo, anyway a few weeks pass and no card arrives so i rang dvo, they say they never got the form from vet, vet say form was sent..... so girl says she will send me another one..sigh...thats grand new form arrives yesterday along with another letter warning me about late registration of calves kinda giving me a warning that they will let me off this time but if there is any more issue they will restrict my herd immediately! the person who signs the letter leaves no direct number to be contacted of course..just makes me cross, i cant even explain the situation to them, if you ring in no one is interested

any literature we have for the Dept, is either posted by registered mail requiring a signature for delivery, or else we hand it in with a copy which we get stamped as proof of delivery.

since we started this approach, we have very few issues
