Researching a website name

    Not sure if this is the right forum for this, please move or delete if it is in the wrong place.
    How do you research fully the availability of a name and that it is not taken?
    I'm thinking of a .ie address.

    The www.iedr.ie whois is the best start point for a .ie domain name.

    The whois search is at the top right hand corner of the page.
