Well it's something that I've always wondered what percentage of Irish people have smoked weed. Have you tried it and what were you experiences like with it?

I don't smoke but I've tried weed. I enjoyed the buzz and would do it again but wouldn't make a habit out of it

You'll find that boards isn't exactly a fair representation of the whole Irish population. Yes the sample size is large but boards is mostly young men who are most likely to have tried it.

But I haven't and more than likely won't

If you look at comments on youtube videos you'll find a staggering amount of people who smoke weed while listening to all kinds of music. They're so high that they have to comment claiming how great it is to get high. I'd say about 90% of the entire planet have gotten high, only when listening to songs on youtube though. Their comments on the internet are proof enough for me

As for me, I did it once but I was too drunk to notice any difference

I have taken it over the years. I am not a young man far from it. In moderation I find it enjoyable though recently I have taken it to relieve serious pain in my back that has had major surgery but nothing more can be done

No the feeling I have been troubled with my back for years. It was discovered that I had been born without L3 combined with the degeneration of L2 & L1 also L4 & L5 I also have stenosis of the spine so eventually they took me in opened the spine and scraped the excess bone away. They then put two rods in and the appropriate cages and finished off with a bone graft.
Unfortunately its not worked as well as hoped and I find the pain increasing to the silly stages again. So a Joint now and again gives great relief for a while.
I go back to my consultant in two weeks to see if more surgery is viable or if I am stuck with it :(

All a poll like that is going to tell you is what percentage of posters in AH, who have read this thread and are feeling truthful, have smoked weed. It's not even going to come close to a societal average, just a vague picture of a very small group.

Yep I have, used to smoke it a lot when I was younger. I don't smoke it anymore bar I had a few puffs at Christmas when I was drunk is all. But other than that I don't go near it.

    Weekends only.

I find it helps me relax and get good sleep (up to 10 hours with a good Indica) and this then allows me to have energy for college work. It also makes games such as Skyrim so much better.

I see no reason why it should be illegal. I do not drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes because these leave me feeling sick and shameful.

Saying that, I can understand why weed might leave some people in trouble. It does help to distance yourself from reality which might result in you not going into school or keeping in contact with friends etc etc.

did not real the whole post so my own one might be disjointed with the rest of the thread.

Thing I find with the people I know that smoke is that they smoke a lot. Its a not a weekend thing like drinking, its a daily thing. Yet they will refuse to accept its substance abuse.

Some of them but most of them are 25 -35. I know young people tend to over do most things and will go through that phase same as they do with drinking. But as the people I know got older they either stopped completely or continued to smoke a lot. Those same people would still only drink at the weekends and would consider drinking every day over doing it. But weed they see differently for some reason.

Similarly there are people who would smoke little or rarely, but who would have no problems in having a few beers or glasses of wine every night. People just have their own favourite poison and, tbf, both are substance abuse.
