Thanks was about to post it. Possible GWP as well during the double insider points but not 100% sure. Seems 150 or 200 spend but will have to see if ends up coming out at the time.

Do pre orders count for double points? I've two sets on order I might cancel and re order for the double points if so.

Just noticed that the P1 McLaren is reduced by ~€100 on both the Amazon and Smyths websites. Tempting at that price!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,545 ✭✭✭Oafley Jones

You’d want to be out of your mind to pay RRP for this line. They’re almost immediately discounted, settling into at least 100 euro off for the rest of the products shelf life.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,709 ✭✭✭Heroditas

Very true. I see the Ferrari Daytona is also reduced on Amazon. Anyone bought either of them? I'm thinking of a set or two in the next while but torn between the McLaren P1 at that reduced price, the F1 Ferrari or F1 Red Bull when they're released or the Daytona Ferrari. 🤔

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,650 ✭✭✭bennyx_o

I have the Ferrari Daytona waiting to be built (Along with the Porsche GT3 RS & Bugatti Chiron) hope to pick up the Lamborghini Sian before it retires and the McLaren P1 at some stage, but will wait for it to drop a bit more first

Yep, it is. I got the fortnite bus, llama and burger, 154 , traded points to get the Mario crab free and ....so 5 sets for the 154.

I've my eye on the nightmare before Christmas set which I was going to buy if it was a 200 spend. Though I have a feeling Smyth's reduced that ...or ran the promotion 5 off 50 spend last year so I'm not in a major rush to buy this yet.

You got a good nice haul there now. The nightmare before Xmas set looks v cool now. Saw it built and was well impressed with it. Sure might be better in lego store when a different GWP comes up and double insiders again. I used my insiders points on the bricklink designer programme there other day, 69 off the medieval seaside market so was cost 161 now instead but like that won't be out until July when it's shipped but least something off it then. Just ordered a little bit last night 70 spend from lego site and built a few viking lego people I'm the store today

Well I did a winter village and the kids now want an Easter display and Halloween display....so the nightmare set will be perfect for that.

It's one of their birthdays coming up so the fortnite stuff will do for that.

I need to cool the jets though....both from a financial and lots to build point of view.

However when the deals are good .....

Finally got to pick up the Avengers Tower earlier this evening in Lego Store at Blanchardstown. Combination of gift cards received at Xmas, Vouchers from work and insider points completely funded the set. Very happy to to got in at home now to join up with the Daily Bugle and Sanctum Sanctorum. Nice start to 2025 with the Fortnite Bus finally on its way as well after ordering from Lego back on the 14th Dec 24. Wishlist gets a little shorter 😂

I've got the Daytona, great set. Also have the Bugatti and the Lamborghini Sian. Big cars, need a wide shelf! I'll get the McLaren at some point.

Decided to get the Artemis, with the double points, this weekend.

I only recently got into Lego with the launch of the Endurance (I'm a huge polar exploration nut) and it has now turned into an addiction!

Since Endurance, I have added the Space Shuttle Discovery (built) and the Motorised Lighthouse (unbuilt).

Unfortunately, I also discovered Cobi and have built their Lancaster Bomber Dambuster edition and currently working on the executive edition of the Tirpitz. I also have the Iowa-Class Battleship and the Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress "Memphis Belle" to build.

Would love to add a train to the collection at some point, but unsure whether to go for the Orient Express or wait for Cobi's Flying Scotsman, which is due out in May.

Also praying that the rumours of an Endurance scale Black Pearl are true.

You could go for the lego bricklink designer programme lego set. Your not charged until it's sent out they only check your credit card there is funds when you pre order it and refunded back then. You can cancel as well down the line. Only problem is you won't get it until July and your charged then so gives you time to get the money together. It's 280 euro.

Yeah I know what you mean. I was very bad at one point getting lego, cooled it a bit, creeping back up a tad but not as bad as was before.

Got finished with the x wing after, although it looks nice the build was a bit boring, I suppose the 4 wings being the exact same building made it a bit of a pain and did not help.

quick question guys, son is now to old for his lego sets and what's his room changed (teenager)… he has many sets all built, Harry Potter, njago, Venom head, Star Wars x-wing fighters etc etc and stacks of pieces all colour coded. Where can this be sold so that we can get some money back towards redoing his room… the original costs was no doubt into thousands but anything back would be better than nothing. No boxes or anything just complete built sets. What do people do in this situation? any advice most welcome.

Priced rightly they should sell on Adverts. If you know the set numbers look up adverts for others for a rough idea of price.

Dust and completeness usually impacts the price.

Listing by theme might make most sense.

Loose bits don't go for very much, maybe Around €10-€15 per kilo

With Adverts it's frowned upon to raise the price after listing the items, so don't start too low.

There are a few specialist Lego traders around, indeed I think I've seen one post on here the odd time, if you're open to being PMed by any I'd suggest saying that explicitly so it isn't skirting any rules. I'm not one though.

If you have the instructions for any of them still, it will increase resale value and hence what you might get for selling them. Boxes are a bonus; but nowhere near as useful as the instructions in that regard.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,037 ✭✭✭Jacovs

Depends how much time you want to spend on it.

Quickest, take a picture of the whole lot and put it all up on adverts, sold as 1 big job lot, as seen.

Bit more time, take a photo of each set as its built, put each up on adverts individually, sold as seen.

Even more time, take a photo of each set built, then break it down into individual parts, check the instruction manual online and tick off each part on the manual, then bag it all in ziplocks. If there are any parts missing, say it in the ad.

Or… box it away for when he is older and will inevitably get back into Lego again and he will have all of that stuff waiting for him :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,326 ✭✭✭RGARDINR

Yeah agree there. I gave away loads when I was a teenager regret it loads now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,326 ✭✭✭RGARDINR

There is and a few on adverts but please be careful. I see them on adverts a few who sell tons of lego, if you check the comments on their page low ball offers they put in on sets and will follow up with a reply again to ask the person to accept their offer. Some times people do sometimes they don't. But yet when some one offers on their lego adverts say even a fiver lower they would more then likely say no and sometimes can be rude.

thanks for replies guys. I am open to be pm'd if anyone is interested and my lad has no interest in lego and is switched his passion to playing sports and the gym.
I will try and photograph the sets as built as they are and get them up on adverts.

Really happy with the display case I got for my Endurance and the Caird from Blacked Brick, went for the background and wasn't disappointed with the quality
