It's easy to miss the bigger picture if we don't know what the bigger picture is Sweety Pie (Is it ok to call you that?)

What the hell is this all about. What is mankind's purpose?

A great philosopher tried to get to the bottom of it many years ago and it's as good an explanation as Pighead has heard.

'Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind." Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind." What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.'

    Deep.

Ah, you must be that emotional lad that texts into Ray Darcy everyday. You know, the lad that keeps bursting into tears after one of Rays emotional story segments and feels the need to tell Ray straight away.

(At least its not as annoying as the texts from the mother dancing around the kitchen with her 3 year old. Ray plays some great music you see...)

With the old people though, a lot of the ones I know don't want to end up in a state where they need 24 hour care and be a burden (as they put it). Some of them are not afraid of dying and feel they have a good long life and their reward will be in heaven. I like old people, lots of interesting stories to tell and they've seen really tough times, not the the poor me generation today. :)

No, as a planetary race we are not the people we should be. We should have bad ass Space-Craft by now that's cruising our Galaxy looking for answers, is there anybody else? if so, do ye lot have the cure for Cancer and so on. Instead we're a Planet that's fighting each other to see who has the greatest made up God.

I just find it kinda funny you're complaining about the inhumanity and apathy of man whilst sitting at a computer at 1am in one of the safest societies in the world today and in the history of human civilisation.

OP is questioning the empathy of humanity towards each other based on experiences of working with the elderly who it appears have lost hope. And toilets and games rooms. :D

AH is responding in the way one can expect of AH, except no one's mentioned the death penalty, social welfare tourists or the irish langauge. Yet.

Gotta maintain hope. I lose a little bit of humanity evey time I turn on TV and see Jeremy Kyle. But then I stop and it restores itself.

There's a not of nice thigns in the world too.

Being out of beer is not one of them.
