    Hi,

Just looking for a bit of advice on a workout bench for myself (a complete novice), the only place I can think of to get one near me is Argos.
I'm not looking for anything fancy just something I can use to tone up and build some muscle.

I was think of a pretty basic one like this
    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9283495.htm

    Any opinions?

Maybe I'd be better off with a multi-gym? Something like this
    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3358474.htm

I realise this will be the type of kit that many round here will scoff at, but I just want something to get started with.

    Any advice appreciated

Watch the width on whatever bench you decide upon. I think those argos ones are very narrow and have like a 5 ft bar where as an olympic bar is 7.2ft. Get a bench that'll take a bar that with or you'll end up with huge triceps from all the close grip bench you'll be doing :P

    That's a bad thing?

    Thanks guys.

So you would all recommend going for a standard weight bench instead of a multigym?
