I also heard recently that no matter what you do on the internet, you leave a digital footprint and even if those images are erased, that they can be, or images, or text messages, is it true that they can be, em, found again?
Yes Senator, no amount of scrubbing your laptop screen with bleach will hide the evidence of Japanese midget horse scat porn you accidentally clicked on.

It would be funny if this woman wasn't in such an elevated position. Town councillor is about her level.

she nearly had it right, she said it was somebody else posting something as you you wouldn't want posted, but then she had find a way to justify the raped on facebook comment, so she made the comment might be sexfual, which it could well be but it showed she was confused about what it really was.

Well yes and no, while the population at large does not elect senators from the labour panel so about 1000 people elect the senators, those people being guess what politicians.

    raped on facebook you say?

How would she rank that? Worse than being raped in person?

This is the same woman who last year wanted to introduce a law so that all video game consoles should have a chip installed to limit how much they are used for.

I wouldn't spend too much time listening to what she has to say - really is a disgrace people like this are given such position that lets there misinformed notions be aired.

It's a pipe dream of mine that someday in Ireland the people who make legislation on cyber bullying will understand the basic workings of the computers beyond Microsoft Word and Internet Explorer.

A frape never really hurt someone in fairness. Most frapes are along the lines of "im gay" "i want cock/fanny" or in my case "can't wait to rape someone in the taxi tonight" no one believes its the truth. Total over reaction by her.

Rejected 3 times by her local electorate so her fellow politicians reckon she would make a great senator.

The same woman who thinks she doesn't have to pay pay builders after they finished work on her house and the builder had to get a court order to get the money.
The same woman who thinks she can get a train without paying for a ticket.
The same woman who thinks she doesn't need to pay motor tax.
The same woman who drives while on a mobile phone in her untaxed car.
You really got to wonder how politics in this country has gotten into such a bad state, this woman has somehow blagged her way to a position of power, and gets paid €65k a year plus expenses to spout shíte like this.

"Even if the images on the internet are erased, is it true they can be found again?"

How are these fúcking cavemen allowed to even talk publicly about technology when they're about as knowledgeable as as someone with a weekend IT FÁS course.

It would be laughable if it wasn't so serious. These complete idiots actually have the power to implement changes on internet protocol in Ireland. Haven’t a notion on technology or how the internet works, old fogeys getting completely confused about it and speaking on the radio where other old fogeys who haven’t a clue can hear them and get worried.

    Absolute tossers.

    On a side note,

An internet where I can’t rape people is an internet I don’t want to be a part of.

"Can we have a situation here where the identity of every user is registered to an IP address in this country. I am familiar where IPs were registered in the United States and they couldn't be tracked down.

    Comedy gold.

I would be laughing if i wasn't horrified at how someone can be so woefully misinformed and still be in a position of 'power'.

It feels like she's a mammy who's just had her child incur a huge bill, or get caught doing something bad, and is desperately, and hopelessly trying to blame someone else.

Are we sure Chris Morris didn't write her script?

Not just in Ireland either. Since so many services have their EMEA headquarters here, any changes in law or data regulation etc will potentially impact people all over the world.

If the likes of Healy-Eames get to dictate to management from Facebook & Twitter I wouldn't be surprised to see them pack up and head elsewhere.

This was a question she asked directly of the Minister for Communications Pat Rabbitte (I'd say he cringed for her). The Minister!!

Probably followed up with "is it true that if you type google into google......."
