note: I've already ran this post past the mods as it is a duplicate of a thread in Rugby

After their Historic win against the English and claiming their first triple crown, Irelands womens team will face France this Friday in what could well be the tournament decider.

A win on Friday against France would leave only an away trip to Italy standing between them and an Historic first Grand slam for the womens side.

The game will be streamed live on rte.ie however tickets for the game are only €10 for an adult or €20 for a car of 4, for what should be a cracking game with a great atmosphere.
Tickets for the game on Friday, priced at 10 euro for adults and 5 euro for children, OAPs and students, can be purchased in advance from the following outlets:

    - JR's Newagents in Main Street, Ashbourne from Saturday

    - Ashbourne Leinster League game on Sunday at the Milltown House Grounds in Ashbourne from 2pm onwards

Tickets will also be available from Monday onwards in Allrooms, 31, Upper Liffey Street, Dublin 1 (beside the side entrance to M&S at the Jervis Street Centre).

You will also be able to pay at the gate - adults €10, car of 4 people €20, students, kids and OAPs €5.

The Old Belvedere Women's team run a supporters' bus from Dublin to Ashbourne for 20 euro which includes transport to the game and entry to the match.

There are two collection points: Old Belvedere RFC, 28A Anglesea Road, Dublin 4 and Jury's Hotel, Custom House Quay, Dublin 1.

Please contact Jenny to book your spot on the supporters' bus now: jennysynnott@yahoo.com.

There is plenty of car parking (700 spaces) in Ashbourne RFC. The club would encourage people attending to car pool or if coming from the city there is 103 bus that leaves Beresford Place every 20 minutes with a journey time of 30 minutes.

There is will be a bus running from Ashbourne to the club every 15 minutes from 6.30pm onwards on match night, and this is only a five-minute journey. There are also taxis available in the main street (Kelly's pub).

From Dublin Airport there is also a regular bus service, the 109 which will drop you in the town centre.

If you are bringing a bus to the game, we would appreciate a call in advance so arrangements can be made. Please call Rod at 0862855946.

So now for the sales pitch. As a nothsider into Rugby I am well aware of the sterotypes that are involved in the game of rugby and unfortunately there are still a of a lot of idiots out there that will say it is a man's only game however it isn't.

Rugby is a fantastic sport for all ages of girls, boys, men and women and the match on Friday will help show just how good women's rugby actually is.

Between the 15 aside, the 7's, Tag and even League, there is a varity of rugby for all levels and skill sets and it is a great way to get out stay fit and meet alot of great people.

The Irish team have done trojan work over the last decade and they haven't had an easy time of it. I'm sure their clinical dismantling of a strong English side went some ways to pay back some of the commitment over the previous years and this side isn't finished yet.

Get out and support them.It will be a great evening out and the game should be a blinder. If I were anywhere close I would definitely go.

    C'mon Ireland.

I used to train alongside the Women's Rugby team and a finer bunch of women you couldn't find, they deserve a win this weekend.

Lots of info about the team and fixtures on their facebook page too: https://www.facebook.com/irelandwomensnationalrugbyunionteam

It ended up 15-10 to Ireland. This means that only an away game against Italy in Milan on Patrick's day stands between the them and a first grand slam

Other results went Ireland's way today. So the women are now 6 nations champions for the 2nd time so should be extra motivated to get their first grand slam next week
