Aer Lingus Flight cancellation Question

    :( Need some advise:

In January Aer Lingus had a 20% offer on flights so I booked for 2 persons in July & September. Now because of sad family matters I believe it better for me to cancell.

The flight were for 2 family weddings which we now cannot attend. I am a frequent flyer with AL almost now 40 years and have never had to cancell before.

So what should I do?? will I have any chance of getting our flight costs returned. Is it even worth my while trying? Would it be any benefit to just change flight for a later date and what cost is involved.

Or am I better just accepting the fact that I have just had bad luck.

Any real help here would be very much appreciated.
