Broken Roto-tom

Hey all. Have a problem with a 8" roto-tom that I purchased as part of a set. Unfortunately when I walked out of the music shop all of the boxes containing the drums were awkwardly carried and one of the boxes containing the 8" tom fell and hit the ground. I thought nothing of it until I inspected the toms and got them set up on the stand.

It seems as though the piece of metal in the centre cleanly sheared off (I'm bad with the terminology at the moment) the part which actually holds up the head. Pictures here will give you a better idea:

I'm wondering would I stand a good chance fixing that with some kind of strong adhesive like superglue or should I have it repaired by someone who knows what they're doing? Pretty annoyed since they were only bought today.

Did you drop the box, or the did the staff?
Cause if it was the staff, just get a replacement

It was me about 10 minutes after I left the shop unfortunately, otherwise I would.
