Anyone else suffer from slow recovery? I squatted Wednesday and it's just today I feel better. I get my 8 hours sleep, I'm eating loads. And i know most of you will say 'you're not over trained anyway' but can slow recovery be down to that?

How much food is loads? Do you know exactly your amounts?

Have you been squatting long? Have you upped the weights/reps/sets remarkably lately?

Try get a nice stretch in before and after, with possibly some foam rolling etc..

    4000kcals approx.

Squatting 4 months now. Not exactly upped the reps, working within about 70% of 1RM which I hit about 2 weeks ago. Top set next week I intend to be 90kg x 3 which is 75% of my 1RM.

Stretching is good, about 15-20mins before and maybe a bit less after.

Was going to ask that too, Check diet and make sure you're getting enough omegas etc. they can help with inflammation.

Seriously. Look at your log. You squatted. Front squatted. Did high rep leg extensions. And THEN finished off with walking lunges.

The last two serve no practical purpose other than creating the DOMS you're now complaining about.

In addition to all the squatting and leg work, you also did a Coan/Phillipi deadlift session the next day. Lol, why am I sore? There's your answer!

Plus there was a Coan Phillipi Deadlift session in the middle of the "recovery time".

Ridley, you need to look at your training as a whole, not just "I squated".
