I just started one of these. Great minds think alike. Sure we'll use this one.

    My post:

It's the week where alot of us will be keeping a close eye on Old Trafford.

I've decided to bench RVP myself. Not going to risk a ten minute cameo. Sissoko is the mid I'd have to bench to play 3 strikers and I just watched last week's MoTD2 and he's getting forward alot.

Plus Newcastle are playing a Swansea team that should have a cup hangover and with European football secure have little to play for.

    My team for the gameweek:

Did laugh,1 minute apart the threads are!!

Captain is Mata and front 3 of Auguero,Lambert with Sturridge, bulging midfield means i have benched Walcott.

Jesus Squeezeus, I've already posted in t'other thread put I'll stick it here too if this is the one we're going with.

    I've gone:

    Bego

    Clyne Zab Wilson

    Bale(C) Michu Sissoko Walcott Puncheon

    Lambert(VC) RVP

    Bench.
    Bunn,
    Giroud, Harte, Davies

Still second guessing on RVP or Giroud. RVP may only play 20 minutes but could rack up points. Giroud could play 90 minutes and get squat! His form's been stinking!

Read on FFS that Sky sports news said Fellaini is fit to play and Anichibe faces a late fitness test. Not sure how true that is as I'm not in Ireland to put on the channel.

Is there any one to confirm this at work so can't watch TV :(

I'm off to the website for a look

Most media have a very weakened Man U team for today, no Rafael or Evra, I'm praying that Evans plays as I still expect a clean sheet.

Here'e hoping Fellaini does'nt play and gets sent off!! Sold him for Sissoko, who's hot streak will most likely come to an abrupt halt now, as Fellaini bags a hatrick! This FF lark is like playing golf, it's the best and worst game in the world..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,341 ✭✭✭El Horseboxo

Every time Moyes has said 'has a chance' so far this season when Baines or Fellaini were the player in question, they have played. So make of that what you will.

Haven't seen any of the 6 team sheet predictions from usual sources list him in the starting 11.

Lads would you play Jaaskelainen (away to Stoke) or Federici (away to Everton) ?

It seems a no brainer in favour of Jaaskelainen but recent away form makes me hesitating...

An honest question to RVP benchers. You you really think he will only get 10 mins from the bench?

For me that makes no sense at all tbh. If is definately going to play, its for a reason, not for the sake of a cameo.

It looks to me like he is getting game time to shake off a few cobwebs and 10 mins isnt going to do that.

I have to really look to see if I can bench one of my other 7. Any news on Sturridge?

Was going to ask the same question.

Agree too on the RVP issue. If he can play he'll start and get around 60 min or play something like the second half. 10-20 min would have almost no effect on his lack of rhythm / will to get playing time.

Any last minute suggestions here guys?

O'Brien away to Stoke or Harte away to Everton?

Zero chance of a clean sheet for Harte, Zero chance of a goal/assist for O'Brien, tough choice.

    Michu WILL play

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 15,239 Mod ✭✭✭✭FutureGuy

I put my money where my mouth is and started Van Persie. I really think he'll either get 60 from the start or 25 from the bench vs a tired Norwich.

I also started Sturridge and benched Sissoko.

Will be a nervy wait for the teams at 2pm. Outta here for the day, see ye later lads.

    Mignolet
    Samba - Clyne - Zabaleta
    Bale (c) - Michu - Mata - Walcott
    Sturridge - RVP - Lambert
Subs: Sissokonopleasedontscoreifyoustayonbench - Davies - Harte

Started RVP and benched Walcott instead.

I had the same decision, but after a quick look at the odds for either a 0-0 or 0-1 (the only realistc clean sheet scenarios) in either match I had to go for O'Brien.

Site is laggy as usual at this time, but I'd say O'Brien has scored as many attacking points as Harte this season.

I rarely bet on football but 4/1 on Suarez fgs and 4/1 Sissoko anytime scorer were irresistible.

They cover the two players I'm worried about today.

    RVP starts.

    lovely.

all of a sudden he's a very slight differential.

those who have him got a little lucky. now those who benched/transferred him out need a bit of luck.

Puncheon plays, he's on my bench but I'd like to keep him long term.

There should be a bit of craic about RVP today no matter what. Hoping for a blank myself but I'd settle for anything under 8.

Big mistake by a lot of people to sell RVP, i left him as my captain, hope it works out. Could do with a bit of good luck after a bad run a few weeks ago.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

He was expected not to start. You got lucky. Captaining him was a big risk.

Hopefully all of us that benched/sold him can get lucky and he get's a 1 or 2 pointer.

Easy to say with hindsight. Nobody knew if he would start. If he hadn't (and had his price dropped as it should have) then I think it would have been the right decision. As it is he starts,so the decision was wrong in retrospect. Either way both sides were relying on a bit of luck, and either way i couldn't see how either side could've made a 'big mistake' as it was a close decision. All being said, who knows, the replacement could still potentially outscore him.
