Does anyone know if W&W (don't know if I'm allowed to name business names on the forum) are still open for business in Baldoyle? I've been trying to get through on the phone all day and can't get an answer.
I'm looking to source four or five sheets of 5mm marine ply for delivery to Co. Clare. who do people use? Is importing it from the UK the best option?
    Thanks.

As far as I know they are still open I got some fiberglass there a few weeks ago. You may have to go for 6mm or 4mm as I don't think you can get 5mm.
If there is a Brooks http://www.brooksgroup.ie/products/timber-wood-products/ near you try them. Make sure you get BS1088 standard as there is a lot of cheep crap out there.
    You could also try.

Thanks Fergal. A veritable goldmine of information as always!
Last time I spoke with Strahan they said they cannot guarantee their marine ply to be free of voids and confirmed that it was of Chinese origin. I'll ring Chadwicks in the morning and see what they have.
Incidentally, has anyone ordered sheet materials from Robbins in the UK?

Chadwicks don't stock it (at least they did not last year). I bought from Noyeks in Tralee a couple of years ago, they had to send it down from Dublin - they might do the same for you to Ennis?

You can get 5mm from Robbins. Send them your list and they'll give you a quote including delivery. Unless the ply is Lloyds registered, i.e. the production is overseen by Lloyds you take a chance on the quality of the ply. Sometimes the risk is justified, sometimes not.
