Has anyone here had their bodyfat % measured using Hydrostatic weighing in Dublin? I would be interested to find out costs/location/experiences etc.

    Thanks.

Don't know if this is of any help but... I had my BF measured using Hydro W and other techniques for a research project (not in Dublin). I found the DXA the easiest, straight forward way to go. Also, it was good to get the muscle mass number from the scan result. I didn't feel great when doing the Hydro W.

Thanks - do you need to be a student there or can you just call to arrange an appointment?

No - they test anybody, just call/e-mail them. I did a lactate test there a while ago.

It's a test where, while you row or cycle or run, someone measures your lactate levels (taking a few drops of blood from your earlobe). For example, if you are a cyclist, then the test will be cycling at 100 watts for 3-4 min., then 130, then 160 and so on until you reach your lactate threshold.
I found it useful and informative (you get a report). It's easier then to determine your training zones as you get your lactate levels and heart rate for the different loads (watts) you cycled at. It's easier to structure your training too.

Sounds like really interesting info to have to hand. Thanks
