After what seemed like an age, I finished my boat. Today I went down to the Suir, just outside Clonmel and Launched it.

It was difficault at first, as I have never done canoeing befor, and stayed close to the bank.

Took my little one for a quick spin, along with Jack, the dog. I'm sure at 8 years old thought he was a pirate or something. He was enjoying the sunshin in our new toy.

I fitted an electric outboard to it and tried it out, fantastic, no padling up stream. Befor anyone tells me thats no the way to do it, I suffer badly with Arthritis, thats my excuse and Im sticking to it.

Here are a few pics of our afternoon.

Nice boat, took a bit of building.I would get a bigger buoyancy aid though.Have you seen the traditional 'cotts' used on the Suir for fishing, sort of like your canoe?
