Hi all, I know there is a lot of info on this site about social work interviews, but just wondering if anybody is being interviewed this week in Trinity and if anybody else has experience of the Trinity interview specifically and may like to share?

    Thanks for any feedback, LJ

    Hey

    I've my interview 2mo what about u?

I done the interview last year and clearly didn't get in its really competitive, last year their was a small question you done before your interview I'm not sure if its on this year because nothing had been said but the main thing is be yourself cause they don't go into too much stuff of theories like Ucd do, although its good to have a sense of what social work actually is, I'm sorry if you have your interview today as this may be late telling you. But let me know how you get on just relax and be confident and you'll be fine and they are so nice they really relaxed my nerves last year when I was goin in!

Hiya, thanks for reply! I was in today at 11.45, it was pretty much exactly how you described...no theories at all...just really went through the cv application form and then few questions why I wanted to do social work and also asked me if anybody that I came across in work experience that stayed with me. They said that they are interviewing 60 people for 22 places and that they will also have a waiting list of 10, they said last year they ended up offering places to the first 6 on the list.
I missed closing date for ucd, nuig and ucc are a bit far for me so fingers crossed but as you say it is very competitive so will just have to wait and see. which college would be your first choice?

there wasn't a question before hand or anything but there was some chocolate fingers in the waiting room!
Wishing you all the best for tomo.

Hiya, congrats on UCD, I know that interview is very hard so you must have done well! I actually only decided to apply for MSW recently so I missed the closing date for UCD and only applied for Trinity, do you know anybody else that went for it? did they say where you were placed on the waiting list? best of luck!

Hey yeah I rang them today to ask apparently in Ucd there's 12 on the waiting list and there not suppose to tell ya where ur placed but they told me I was the first on the list,so just gotta wait for one person to decline thir offer from them and I know trinity have 10people usually on their waiting list and they took apparently 5people off the list last year onto the course
