Hi guys I am looking for some advice help regarding my diet.I have decided its time I lost weight and got back in shape and want to start by sorting out what I eat.I am 5"8 and 88KG.I have a office job so sitting at a desk for about 8 hours.
This what i consume in a typical day:
Breakfast: 2 slices of wholemeal toast and a cup of tea(milk,no sugar)I have this about an hour after I get up.Usually once a week I have a few grilled rashers.
Lunch:Usually around 1pm.Whatever is on the lunch menu at work but it is usually meat and 2 veg.
    Evening:I will have 2 sandwiches around 7 o'clock.
I have a take away usually once a week.
In the past 2 weeks I have stopped eating/drinking junk.No sweets ,biscuits or fizzy drinks.I didnt eat a huge amount of that stuff either but I know its better to cut it all out.

    What should I change/start doing?

In the last 2 weeks I have stopped the takeaways and haven't had a drink either.
    All advice appreciated.
I am also going to start doing some exercise ,I am doing nothing at the moment. Will I post about that here or in the fitness thread?

That doesnt sound like a lot of food, is that everything you eat at the moment? Also it has a lot of bread in it, which you should look at substituting with something better (have a read of the stickies).

What kind of exercise are you planning to do?

Start by working out how many calories you need to eat to lose weight.

Do up a meal plan. Bring your own lunches to work so you know exactly what's in them.

Prepare all your meals around a source of protein.

Yeah thats about it ,have started eating a apple or banana in the evening if I will feel hungry.I know I eat too much bread(love all types) and Im going to cut down on it.My plan is to start eating porridge most morning instead of the toast.

    I plan on cycling.

Lose the takeouts man there doing you no good. Try and get more greens in your diet like Kale and spinage they are quite good for you. Drink a lot of water, you can always drink more, lots of green fresh veg and nuts and fish has good oils in it. Start small with the exercise program and build up each session, make sure you dont make it a effort to exercise or it is very easy to lose interest in 3/4 weeks down the line, keep exercises short and make sure you enjoy them, A simple fast walk or even a light run can be a good place to start. If your gyming keep sessions short and simple. Good luck my man!! Hope it helps!

    Not eating takeouts. Good

Starting exercising. Good - if you have been doing absolutely nothing, start small and gradually but consistently build on that.

Drinking lots of water. Good- the 2L often quoted includes intake from food and all drinks, you shouldn't have to force it down. Include tea and juices in the two litres, just make sure to have a drink after exercise or any other time you perspire.
