Shake Weights

    I know, I know - not worth a w@nk (:D) but hear me out!

I've been trying to get back in to doing a few weights but with work, life and everything else I only get to the gym once, maybe twice a week. I would like to do more but I just don't have the time.

However I do generally have a bit of spare time in work where theoretically I could use a set of 12 / 15kg bells for 10 mins or so per day but I don't really want to be carrying those around with me every day.

So my question is would it be worth my while to invest in a shake weight to supplement my work outs or is it a total waste of time?

Nah it's just a useless gimmick.

If you don't want to haul equipment around a program consisting of body weight exercises would be best.

Could you use one of those doorway pull up bars in work?

I'm not looking to replace my work out with a shake weight. I'm asking would it be worthwhile to supplement my work regime with a shake weight. Big difference. ;)

I have one that you can have if you like. I think it's useless but it's certainly is better than doing nothing lol

Ah, well you see the thing is for a small portion of the day in work I have to sit at a desk in an office on my own and do......nothing. I can't leave the desk during this period as I need to be able to respond to an 'emergency' that very rarely happens. Anyhow the point is while I'm sitting at this desk I could be lifting a few weights to supplement my current regime. Carrying around a set of bells is not practical but a shake weight would be. As I said I'm not trying to replace my work outs with a shake weight but add to what I'm doing already. ;)

Or you could do tricep dips using your office chair.

Is there space around your desk to do a few push-ups. There are loads of different variations to make it more challanging and keep it interesting?

This was just one page I found for so called "Deskercise"
    http://www.lifehack.org/articles/lifehack/29-exercises-you-can-do-at-or-near-your-desk.html

Or you do things like sets of 10 push-ups in less than 30 seconds any time you get a chance.
30 second planks, squats, calf Raises,...the list goes on really

    Not really, no. :(

I've thought about it and the SW seems the most practical idea. I suppose what I'm asking is is it a complete waste of time or will there be ANY benefit from using it?

Yes it's a complete waste of time. Do some stretching or get an exercise band. You could do a good bit with a band.
Only if you are trying to improve your **** skills.

Doubtful, the shakey thing does all the work. That would just interfere with proper technique and lead to poor motor patterns.

does the hut have a door which is attached to an outside?
if it does you could then maybe, barring an exceptionally unique excuse, perform a b.w excercise, and you'd still be within a step and a half of the batphone.
or get a door hung chinup/dip station - although this is subject to the hut having a door. obvs.
or think up every conceivable reason to not do anything.
or buy the vibrator, but if you do please video it in use and post it here, iv visions of it driving you around the 4'x5' hut on your wheely chair pinball style.
