    Hi

    prob my fav type of hiphop is from late 70's-early/mid 80's old skool stuff with samples from old soul/funk/disco songs. Can anyone suggest anything ta? Im aware of all the well known stuff already of this genre i.e sugarhill gang etc

    here is a great site for some quality mixes, the dj's do the best hip hop of each year and throw them into a mix, in order of years, scroll down to the bottom you can see the older mixes, also the option to scroll through the pages for other (older, newer) mixes , it will give you an idea of what to look out for.

    well im open to later aswell if its in a similar vein. I think im aware of most of well known examples of that type of hip hop already but im open to any suggestions.ta

    +1 on Pete Rock, plenty of funky stuff from him be it with CL Smooth or just his solo instrumental albums
