Do you have to watch 1-28 for it to make sense?

Was the World Heavyweight Championship match also decided as well last night (winner of chamber match vs winner bigshow/alberto del rio)?

There would want to be some serious in-roads made in the RAW show tonight for me to start getting properly exited about this years WM, cos right now it is looking very very average.

I will say here that as of now Undertaker, HHH, Lesnar, CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler, and possibly Sheamus, Orton, Y2J, Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara, Kane and Daniel Byran all could be a part of Wrestlemania and have no set match although plenty of rumours going around regarding some of the names above and more.

Hopefully on this weeks Raw and Smackdown we will get some answers.

This is Jericho's last Raw for several weeks, so something must happen with him tonight. I still think if Taker feel he is not up to scratch for a match they will leave him off till next year and do a big retirement angle for him, Lesnar is only gonna have a match if the booking is right, they are not gonna waste his limited dates on some random match.

A 12-man, over the top rope battle royal it is then!

I think it will be Ziggler Vs. Jericho and Ryback (heel) or Orton (heel) Vs. Sheamus

Did not know that. Even with that tease something tonight and then have build up to Wrestlemania in his dates before Wrestlemania

This sounds like a good plan. Possibly HOF and final match at the one event with his match as the main attraction would be welcomed by me personally.

I would like to see a 6 man ladder match for the IC or US title on the card, good way of getting the mid card wrestlers on the show, the same mid card wrestlers that would probably put on the match of the night. Stick in Barret, Rhodes, Sandow, Mysterio, Cara and a returning Christian.

Also a 3 way tag match between Team Hell No, Prime time Players and The Shield, also you could have the mask vs mask match they have always been banging on about between Cara and Rey.

Ziggler vs Jericho could be a good match as could the 6 man ladder match you mentioned Xenji. Can't see a 12 man tag match taking place nor can i see 2 members of the shield being in a three way tag match. Also i would be disappointed if we seen a the shield vs team wwe match 2 ppv's in a row. Mask vs Mask Rey vs Cara would be good although who would they unmask. have that match without that stip would still be a good match.

Finally and I mean finally could we see the PPV debut of WWE's newest masked wrestler?

Doubt you will see El Generico on TV for a few months yet, I think it would be good to give Reigns and Rollins the Tag Titles, or let the Shield defend them freebird style.

ah that is where a creative booking angle could be used by WWE (I know I am asking a lot) but El Generico does not have to have a match on the main card just an appearance in the arena. Perhaps an over the top battle royal, winner receives a match on the main card in the pre show. That way he gets the appearance just not live on tv. During show say before the aforementioned match they show highlights of the pre show and there is his appearance on tv. good filler for tensai brodus ryder etc as well.

If Chris Hero is still lingering around in NXT, I cannot see El Generico getting called up ahead of him. But at least the future is bright as far as the talent goes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,244 ✭✭✭lycan238

My knowledge of the NXT roster is slim to none however as in previous years they use up most available wrestlers for a Wrestlemania battle royal. In a previous battle royal Hornswoggle won (got a wish from Foley clause which was to be able to speak) so anything and i mean anything is possible.

PS I am gonna learn about the roster shows etc if i am to post here regularly.

Is the general consensus that taker will sit out this mania and return next year for a match against punk maybe?

It is the most logical thing they can do, he supposedly has been going over and back in his decision about it, but he is still fairly beat up and had 2 major surgeries last year, so he has not been able to get into ring shape. I would say they will leave him off this year and go for a big retirement match for him next year, he does not wanna wrestle a match where he was to be carried in it, and should be in far better shape by then.

Does Lesnar/Taker not look like a logical move?

What you have to understand is that the Undertaker is not in great shape, worse then his last 3 WM matches, he has had multiple surgeries in the last year and has not been able to train because of them. The Deadman is not the type to come back on the grandest stage of them all, if he is not in the best shape he can be. Yes it does make sense that they could have a match, but I doubt it and it has been reported that they would be very wary of putting Brock in a match with him, due to Brock's very intense physical style.

Well the last we heard of Taker on WWE TV was Triple H saying Taker would be back so I don't subscribe to that theory right now. After RAW maybe that will change but I have no faith in the newzsites running with this Taker not appearing story as it has no real credibility that I can see (Unless I am missing something???)
    MrMac84 wrote: »

Whatever about Taker I cant see that happening. MITB is its own PPV and doing well, they would be a bit mad doing anything that would ruin the USP of that PPV. It would be a good way to get a lot of people onto the card though.
    Degag wrote: »

Lesner is rough. He is not the kind of guy you put with a banged up older fella imo. If Taker was 10 even 5 years younger it would be great.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,506 ✭✭✭✭Xenji

As regards the news sites, they were all for taker vs punk to start with and then it was taker was in two minds, then he was not in good enough shape for it, now it's about him holding off till next year.

Pity Jericho won't be around for a few weeks. He is in great shape for a 40+ year old, always looks like he was never away from the ring and I have great respect for the fact he came back after his back troubles even though he has no reason to return apart from his want to wrestle.

I would like to see him involved in whatever The SHIELD match is at Mania.

Because he has a grey Goatee?

Some Just for Men, tan and Eye Liner and he is back looking the same as last year.

It's not the grey, he looks quite haggered and has developed some interesting moobs.

Explain how you would set the feud up, they might be draws, but how would you get the viewers interest.

He is 48 in a few weeks!

Sorry to fill the thread with photos but:

P.S - I'm not saying he will be at mania but the older wrestler looking old is not surprising or something worth reading into.

I think it's just that we have all watched him for so long and have such fond memories of him, that we will always want to remember his glory days, not seeing him now and knowing it's nearly the end.

No interest in having a debate about it really. I just think it's an obvious matchup that would draw.

    It would draw for sure

It doesn't appear logical (taking Takers circumstances into consideration) though which is why I think people are asking questions as you originally said it was logical.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,992 ✭✭✭Degag

People have questioned whether Taker is up to it physically for nearly 10 years now (or so it seems)

Didn't actually know he had alot of surgeries in the past year but if has then fine, that makes the match unlikely to happen if he's not fit, but i still think it would be a likely match if he was.

Pretty much why I asked what was "logical" about it.

There's other matches that are big draws to that would be safer for Taker and could use Lesnar in better ways. Those are more logical.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,788 ✭✭✭✭krudler

It stands testament to Taker that he steals the show almost every year, he's had one of if not the best match on the card for the past 6 manias.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,888 ✭✭✭Charisteas

It's logical because both guys draw, neither guy has a WM opponent yet, it keeps both guys away from the WWE title, and the base for a feud is already existent stemming from that spat at a UFC card.

Really are there people that don't want to see this match?

I would of liked to see it maybe 5 or so years ago but not now, Brock has been portrayed as this beast since he has came back, and has upped the ante on the physicality and intensity of how he wrestles, I just don't think Taker body would be able for a match with him. Also unless the match was truly brutal and even, with lots of big bumps, it would make Brock look weak if he lost it, which of course he will, the streak will not be broken.

    1. That spat wasn't seen by the vast majority of fans so would be inconsequential to the set up.
    2. Saying neither has a match means nothing; neither does Kofi so let's add him.
    3. Both guys draw in separate feuds too; Taker vs anyone draws, so better and more logical to have Brock in another match to have a second high power draw.
    4. While I would like to have seen the match years ago when both were at their peak, both will need to be carried this year. Both need someone to take bumps for them. As it stands, taker vs Brock could easily be a train wreck.

Only way I want to see Taker involved with Brock is in a tag with HHH and Punk involved as well, to do the majority of the work. Otherwise, there are far better options, both in terms of drawing power and ringwork ability...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,506 ✭✭✭✭Xenji

Getting tons of questions daily on Twitter about the Undertaker. I get the curiosity but I don't have any answers. One a more strategic note why would any announcement be made until after the Elimination Chamber when the Road to WrestleMania really starts rolling? I was also asked in the Q&A section if WWE would put Taker in a multiple person match at a WM? I can't and won't speak for WWE but I certainly wouldn't do such a booking. Finally, once again, I NEVER see the STREAK ending at the hands of ANYONE at ANY WrestleMania.

    Taken from JR's blog

That's just a silly counter arguement really. We're talking about two of the biggest stars the industry has ever had.
    3. Both guys draw in separate feuds too; Taker vs anyone draws, so better and more logical to have Brock in another match to have a second high power draw.

I don't think that Taker vs anyone draws, nor does Brock vs anone draw. Both need to be in a big match with another star.
    4. While I would like to have seen the match years ago when both were at their peak, both will need to be carried this year. Both need someone to take bumps for them. As it stands, taker vs Brock could easily be a train wreck.
Every year people say Taker has to be carried and every year they are proven wrong.

I personally would not like to see that. I'm not what other match out there would be as big a draw as this one - one that is somewhat possible that is.

I said a few weeks back that i would still order mania even though the matches we knew would happen were still rumours at the time, now as we are getting closer, the matches are near enough confirmed, im really having doubts about getting it, this is the poorest wrestlemania's for as long as i can remember, and the outcome of the matches are so obvious it really is turning me off paying money to see matches ive already seen in the last 12 months

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,884 ✭✭✭✭Rock Lesnar

on a separate note Mania 30 is already grabbing my attention, so much so i might have to make the trip in person, when Rock confirmed he'll be there, Heyman tweeted ''Boy, do i have an opponenet for him'' I can only wish :)

Mania 27 had some horrible matches. Bryan v Sheamus got bumped from the card to allow room for

    Cole v Lalwer
    Snooki
    Pointless 8 man tag.

    Miz was the WWE champ.

This will be what the 3rd straight Mania that The Rock has been a part of. Not too bad for a so called part timer
