I was just getting into a movie (Boondock Saints) when I recognised one of the main characters as a Walking Dead favourite. It has been so long since I saw it I had forgotten who the actors were.
It got me thinking, which of the other cast members have I seen elsewhere - I remember Rick from This Life, where he played a solicitor who wanted to write/play football.
So Boardsies, WITHOUT GOING TO GOOGLE, what cast members have you seen elsewhere, in what roles.

Ricks wife was in Prison Break
    (ironic considering where she died)

Michael Rooker (Errol) has been a lot of things such as slither and Cliffhanger

The Black father and son in the first episode is an english actor and was recently in The Good Cop on BBc

The scientist who blows up the cdc is always in things and is in the new series The Americans

The governor running the town was in Doctor Who as a guy who thought he was the Doctor

Glens girlfriend was in The Vampire Diaries and Supernatural

Norman Reedus (Daryl) was in Blade. And also a small part in American Gangster.

Michael Rooker (Merle) was in loads of films. He was the bad guy in Cliffhanger too.

Andrea's face seems familiar but I can't place it. As I said, I am trying to avoid doing the Google thing.
Think I remember Merle as a sadistic psycho a long time ago, guess he hasn't changed much.

I remember Norman Reedus from Blade 2 alright,

Also, Jenner the CDC scientist, like someone already said, he's in loads of stuff, he was Jim Carreys best friend in the Truman Show.

Michael Rooker is the same, in a lot of stuff, but I'd remember him from Mallrats and Slither.

Andrea I know from Silent Hill and The Mist. Someone told me Dale was in The Mist too, but I don't remember him.

Also, the Latino guy who is one of the main henchmen in the Governors group... I know his face so well, but can't remember what I've seen him in!

He was in Charmed for a few episodes one season... he played Rose McGowan's metrosexual boyfriend :pac:

Saw him recently on a Law & Order rerun.

3 of them were in the film The Mist, Andrea, Carol and Dale - maybe Merle too (cant remember) - it was directed by Frank Darabont.

Merle has been in loads of stuff, I remember him as Henry Lee Lucas in Portrait of a Serial Killer.

Theres been a couple of True Blood characters passing through The Walking Dead too, Rene from True Blood was the lead guy in the bar that Rick and Herschel had the shoot out in, and one of the women on Herschels farm (the one who was feeding the barn zombies) was Sams brothers mother in True Blood.

Andrew Lincoln (Rick) played Simon in Teachers, the British TV show. Was really surprised to see him as Rick in episode 1.

Andrea was one of Mulder's mysterious informants in the X-Files. I think she was called Maria Corrubias or something like that (avoiding google). She was also in the final series of the Shield. Now she just plays an extremely annoying idiot on TWD. :pac:

Rooker was a good guy in Cliffhanger - just pissed off with Stallone's character and who could blame him? He also was pretty scary in Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer.

Rick was also in Afterlife and in Love Actually along with Teachers and This Life.

The black guy Rick meets in the first episode was in Line of Duty on the BBC last year.

Nope, he was Sly's friend (but a little pi55ed at him for letting his girlfriend drop from a zillion feet). John Lithgow was the (scenery-chewing) baddie in that movie.

Rick is the guy with the flip cards from Love Acctually.
Only realised it at Christmas and had a minor freak out.

The scientist in the CDC is in White Collar as the foil to Matt Bomer / Tim DeKay's characters for most of S1 and some of S2.
As well as Andrea, Dale was in The Mist (he was one of the four the car, right at the end) as was Carol (she was the woman who left the store right at the start, asking something like "will no one help me find my kids" or something like that, she is also seen right at the end on an army truck with kids (presumably hers). I'm pretty sure one of the Woodbury bad guys was in a series about FBI negotiators (can't recall the name).

I saw that too and couldn't for the life of me figure out where I remember him from. IMDB came to rescue and I had one of those 'ahhhh' moments.

I had to imdb that when I saw the first episode. His accent really threw me. And I've been waiting for it to slip for 2 and a half seasons. He's doing a great job.

I asked a friend from Atlanta if he was doing a good job on the accent, it might sound fine to us, but to a native it could be off. She doesnt actually watch the show but checked out a few youtube clips I sent her, and she said she wouldnt know the difference. So it must be pretty good!

Andrew Lincoln (Rick) plays a small roll in Human Traffic where he is a jaded guy at a party who is on ecstacy. It's pretty funny. I've been trying to find the clip everywhere. I may have to upload it myself. Watch this space

I just saw on his wiki page that he was in an episode of Breaking Bad as 'Merle, a meth-head', he was hardly Merle Dixon was he? Both AMC shows, was his appearance in BB a sneaky pre-outbreak glimpse of Merle? Helluva coincidence.

Old school mobster got blown away on the forecourt of a Las Vegas Hotel in an episode of CSI I watched the other night. It took me a minute to place where I knew him from

Didn't recognise Herschel with no beard and 2 legs ;)

Glen appeared in a flashback scene in the Big Bang Theory as the flatmate moving out of Sheldon's apartment (I think it's the ep that gives the origin of the Room-mate agreement)

Andrea was in an ep of Due South (the one where Benton is in hospital after being shot by Ray as he was about to leave with Victoria) - she was his physio........

I knew Andrew Lincolin as Simon from Teachers - that's the only reason I actually started watching TWD at all, didn't even know what it was about before I started watching the show......tragic, but true

David Morrissey (The Governor) in State of Play the BBC series that inspired the film. Also in The Other Boleyn Girl, Blackpool and an episode of Dr Who.

Also he was the lead in Thorne.

Scott Wilson (Hershall) was Catherine's father in CSI, and he's been in quite a few horror films, including one of The Exorcist sequels (I think it's 3 but I could be wrong), The Host (which is awesome) and Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (which I would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a horror film that is a little bit different, for want of a better word :) )

Totally forgot Tyreese was Cutty, and Sarah Wayne Callies was equally annoying in Prison Break.

I remember Andrew Lincoln from Love Actually originally, I was slightly dubious about him when he was initially cast as a result, but I really enjoy him as Rick now, especially as the original woodenness has gone away! :)

How weird, just browsing this thread right now while watching the movie Dead Man Walking when lo and behold the priest at the beginning looks familiar. I take a better look and realise that it is Hershel!

I've seen the Governor in a trailer for new movie Welcome to the Punch.

Also saw Herschel in Junebug, more of a chick flick than in his other roles.

Michael Rooker is actually a very well regarded actor. He's superb in his "breakout role" in Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer.

Yeah, that was a great movie.

One thing I like about the actor is that he actually has a great face for screen, full of character and very expressive. I often get sick of "pretty" hollywood faces, bland, boring and usually botoxed. Michael Rooker has none of the above, he has an onscreen presence that is entirely down to his ability as an actor to make us believe him.
