    Ian Madigan, followed by Jackson.

Keatley IMO. O'Gara had a shocker tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭Risteard

Madigan backed up by Jackson with Keatley on stand by.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,953 ✭✭✭budhabob

As a Munster fan and a ROG fan, its sad for me to say but anyone but ROG.

Madigan or Jackson, don't mind which

Anyone but O'Gara IMO, Keatley or Madigan, did Paddy Jackson get injured last night?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,442 ✭✭✭its_phil

I actually don't know. There are pros and cons to the three young guys. Any of them would do.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 425 ✭✭CGD

Logic would tell you it should be Madigan but Declan Kiddinme will pick O'Gara:mad:

This is my order of preference: Madigan, Jackson, Keatley, Steenson, JJ, Ian Humphreys, Olding, Wallace, ROG.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,808 ✭✭✭maddness

For what its worth I would like to see Madigan start but would be happy enough with Jackson.
    Not gonna happen though!

At this stage i'd be happy if John Hayes came out of retirement to play Out Half next weekend. Once it's not ROG

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,257 ✭✭✭Hagz

ROG's challengers "aren't anywhere near him" - Quinlan

ROG's decent "has been too quick for him to be criticised" - Hook

And we get a mention as troglodytes. Wahey!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 854 ✭✭✭RoundBox11

Also it's very convenient for Kidney what with very few people actually being able to watch Madigan play this weekend. Even a masterclass can be overlooked without too much revolt

    Madrigal or Jackson for me.

Maybe have a poll with options for starter and back-up...

    O'Gara Start - Keatley Bench
    O'Gara Start - Jackson Bench
    O'Gara Start - Madigan Bench
    Keatley Start - O'Gara Bench
    Keatley Start - Jackson Bench
    Kealtey Start - Madigan Bench
    Madigan Start - O'Gara Bench
    Madigan Start - Keatley Bench
    Madigan Start - Jackson Bench
    Jackson Start - O'Gara Bench
    Jackson Start - Keatley Bench
    Jackson Start - Madigan Bench

Personally, I would go with Madigan start, and Keatley bench.

My mother is closing in on him for the no.10 jersey at this rate

Madigan for me. Offers something a bit different, great pass and a brilliant eye for the tryline. His kicking has really improved this season too. Jackson on the bench.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,772 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

should be Madigan , but we know who Deccie will turn to

besides , I think Ireland will struggle , so not a good game for Madigan to start , but he is the best 10 after Sexton on current form

I agree with madigan to start with keatley on bench. I have yet to be convinced by Jackson.

Madigan for me, how many shockers is it going to take for ROG to get dropped.

No slight on ROG, he has been a great servant to Irish rugby but for the sake of the game and more importantly, for his own sake, he needs to realise that the time to call it a day has now come.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,637 ✭✭✭CoDy1

    Ronan O'Gara

should never start a game again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

This is what I hate about the ****ing Irish media.

ROG gets a carte blanche, so basically he can do no wrong. He cannot play himself out of the team and they say "Oh shure you can't pick anyone else because they're not experienced".

Therefore, ROG would be benching until he retires. I mean for **** sake.

Madigan for me too with Jackson on the bench. Mainly because Madigan is the best of the three for keeping defenders honest and we'll need that with a new centre pairing.

ROG shovelling the ball to the side while defenders ignore his very presence is recipe for disaster. If the Scots see his name on the team they'll give new meaning to the words 'Blitz Defence'.

This is my order of preference: Madigan, Jackson, Keatley, Steenson, JJ, Ian Humphreys, Olding, Wallace, ROG.

An injured Sexton is better than ROG at this stage :D

    NOC > ROG

That's true, I'd so we would also be better as well, I should have put us on the list too :D

SOB. Have him run every ball. Would still be better than what happens.

Madigan with McFadden at 12 now D'Arcys out. Let McFadden take the kicks to take pressure off Madigan

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,549 ✭✭✭✭Judgement Day

Anybody but ROG as Ireland are going to lose in Murrayfield anyway and he will be blamed. ROG was dire tonight but in good company I'm afraid. :(

Surely if McSharry is fit he should be no.1 choice for 12, otherwise why else have him in the squad at all? I wouldnt go with McFadden at 12, I see him more as a winger or a 13 when BOD'S injured. Personally I'd have Keatley or Madigan 10

    Declan, it is broken

I really think if we can get enough signatures we can get this debated in the Dail and get legislation signed so that Kidney can't pick ROG.

how about if they switched roles , kidney at 10 , and ROG picking the team , might work out better long term

No way Kidney will blood 2 debutants side by side. Either ROG and McSharry or Madigan and McFadden IMO

Any of Madigan/Jackson/Keatley followed by a lifesize cardboard cutout of 2000s ROG

True enough actually, I'd imagine that being Kidney he's always likely to go with ROG at OH anyways. I reckon that McSharry should play though, he's a specialist 12 and it would mean less disruption to the backline

Did someone on the Connacht thread not say that McSharry was/is injured?

Madigan or Jackson for me but we should probably all save ourselves the stress and just come to terms with the fact that ROG will start.

It will be an interesting team selection anyway with a minimum of 5 changes from the England game.

This place will implode if it goes the way I think it will!

Quinlan is really beginning to like the sound of his own voice. I thought he was fair and objective last year but he's fast becoming v tiresome and predictable

In three years, when the last of his mates are retired, he'll be a very good pundit but as it stands, his opinions are too coloured by his personal relationships.

Does anyone know when the team will be announced?

It's a Sunday kickoff so I'm guessing late in the week.
