    Connacht:
    15. Robbie Henshaw, 14. Tiernan O’Halloran, 13. Eoin Griffin, 12. Kyle Tonetti, 11. Danie Poolman, 10. Dan Parks 9. Kieran Marmion

    1. Brett Wilkinson, 2. Jason Harris-Wright, 3. Nathan White (captain), 4. Michael Swift, 5. Mick Kearney, 6. John Muldoon, 7. Willie Faloon, 8. Eoin McKeon

Replacements: Ethienne Reynecke, Rodney Ah You, Ronan Loughney, Andrew Browne, Johnny O’Connor, Paul O’Donohoe, Miah Nikora, Gavin Duffy

    Ospreys:
    15. Richard Fussell, 14. Tom Habberfield, 13. Tom Isaacs, 12. Jonathan Spratt, 11. Ben John, 10. Matthew Morgan, 9. Kahn Fotuali'i

    1. Duncan Jones, 2. Scott Baldwin, 3. Cai Griffiths, 4. Alun Wyn Jones (Capt), 5. James King, 6. Joe Bearman, 7. Sam Lewis, 8. Morgan Allen

Replacements:16. Matthew Dwyer, 17. Marc Thomas, 18. Dmitri Arhip, 19. Lloyd Peers, 20. Jonathan Thomas, 21. Arthur Ellis/Sam Davies, 22. Rhys Webb
As ever, Connacht are playing the Sprays during the 6 Nations at a time when their season is petering out. The Sprays come on a good run of form but Connacht are as close to full strength in the back row as in a long time. Marmion and Henshaw should have learnt a thing or two from their involvement around the international setup in the last few weeks.

Coverage on TG4. For English commentary, Galway Bay FM as ever will be there (I personally recommend the TuneIn Radio app for listening in).

    Betting: Connacht +2 10/11, Ospreys -2 10/11, Handicap Draw 20/1.

Tg4 player doesn't seem to be broadcasting this game. Any reason why?

3-7 down now according to the MatchdayLive tracker on the pro12 site. How are we playing so far?

Great try, some great lines, Muldoon did very well to keep it going

Conn scrum is well op. Driving Ospreys all over the place. TOH went off injured after 14mins, Duffy on. Another pen from the scrum now for Conn... Parks misses from 45m

A job for the citing commissioner there.

Also, haven't seen the Connacht scrum this dominant for a long time.

Who's playing well for us this evening? How are Muldoon and Faloon getting on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,932 ✭✭✭yosser hughes

I'd love to know what the linesman was looking at when that spear tackle happened.
I can only assume he genuinely did not see it.

I think Conn nead another score to be sure of the win. Ospreys with a lot if the ball. I can see them landing one.

    Brilliant tackle from Henshaw.

Duffy has been very good since coming on, there's good competition in the back three.

    Great drop from Parks!

5 min ago I would have said Ospreys will probably steal it.

Wilkinson coming back on really helped the cause too

Great from connacht. Henshaw is so good at the basics for a 19 year old. McKeon and Marmion also v good. Marmion is a future Irish scrumhalf.

Are you kidding me?? Yellow card for that?? Christ, the game has really become soft if that's a yellow, let alone a penalty!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

How was that not a red? He dropped him no?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,661 ✭✭✭Crimsonforce

    What a win for connacht
Only 2 changes in the ospreys side that beat ulster last week

    Opinions eh? ;)

I'd have to see it again, but it looked like a yellow to me, lifted, tilted past the horizontal, but followed the player to the ground. Reckless more than malicious.

Well done the lads, good to see out a tight game like that and even deny them the bonus point.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

It's always a good night when ospreys leave Ireland without a win.

    From Ulster/Munster/Leinster:

    Thank you Connacht! :D

My feeling based on the live viewing was that that tackle at the end should have been red.

Thought it was a red myself on first viewing.

A good performance, thought Parks had a few poor kicks but certainly made up for it. Muldoon was great to have back in the side. Faloon had a storming game, and Danie Poolman is a great player, was unlucky to not hold onto that ball when it bounced up on the counter attack, would have been over for a try.

Hope McKeon isn't going to be out for too long, looked like the ankle was pretty well strapped before he went down. The whole scrum went well today really, but I think we were let off the hook a bit by all of the Ospreys handling errors today, they were putting some good phases of play together but just couldn't get to the finishing line.

Well I need to take a break from this thread if that's seen as a red. Textbook dump tackle, Faloon was never in any danger.

Will need to have a second look at it, but thought he put him down on the back of his neck myself, looked dangerous.

I rewound it on my digital box and to me there was very little difference between that and what Sam Warburton was sent off for in the World Cup semi-final.

Wanna watch the game on TV before giving a good opinion of the game. But two things that stood out were:

    1. Our chase kick and our garryowens are very poor. A lack of communication between Parks and the chasers seems to be the issue.

    2. Tonetti was my MOTM. He was everywhere and considering it was only his second game this season, I was very impressed. Faloon was excellent to so no qualms really.

    3. Griffin is a rock in defence and Poolman has proved to be an excellent acquisition

Lots of positive but pool man is developing well, griffin had his best game for me in a year,

    Really well rounded performance
