Patsy Kensit will be on with Brendan. I had such a crush on her in the 90's! She was stunning.

Former Holby City and Emmerdale star Patsy Kensit will be among Brendan O'Connor's guests on The Saturday Night Show on RTÉ One at 10:05pm.

The founder of the Jack & Jill Foundation, Jonathan Irwin, will recount his own tragic-yet-inspiring story.

Also joining O'Connor will be the artist Guggi and author Helen Seymour.

Music on the night will be of the country variety from siblings Mary, Kathleen and Davey Keenan.

It is always a pleasure to listen Jonathan Irwin. Jonathan and his wife Mary Ann O'Brien (Managing Director -Lily O'Brien's Chocolates) set up the Jack & Jill children's Foundation following the death of their infant son, Jack. The organisation helps young children in Ireland who are born with or develop brain damage and who suffer severe intellectual and physical developmental delay as a result.

Jack & Jill provide home nursing and respite care that supports 320 families in Ireland today and has helped over 1,200 children and their families since 1997.

    God, I'm depressed tonight :(:(:(

Anyone else see the 9 o'clock news?

According to a opinion poll commissioned by the Sunday Independent, Fianna Fáil is the most popular political party in the country. Jaysus, some people have really short memories

While I'm on my soap box, I think it is really sad that the CEO of a charitable organisation like the Jack & Jill Foundation (who are providing services that the HSE can't/won't provide) is forced to appear on a chat show to appeal for financial support from the public so he can continue to meet the needs of children with severe disabilities because the government keeps cutting his funding.

The Jack & Jill Foundation do wonderful work and they save this country a fortune in the process. Here is an example:
The Foundation cares for a child at a cost of €16,500 per annum, while under HSE care these costs are €146,000 a year. At present, the Foundation cares for over 300 children, but without additional funding, they will have no option but to cut back on the number of hours of nursing they provide. The Foundation estimates that such a cut back would incur a cost of €15 million to the State.

No sadder that the likes of Crumlin Hospital, Holles Street Hospital and parents of terminal illness children having to appear on National TV so they can raise awareness of their plight.

It's just Brendan auditioning for the LLS.

And before anyone gets in a knot......No. We should not like this.

Neither do the parents, I'd imagine.

I wouldn't like my ill child to be depending on the proceeds of a CD....:(

Good evening all, MrsD I can only hope the night gets better for you and I agree with you 100% about the Jack and Jill Foundation - The state is cutting off its nose despite its face by cutting their funding.

That's the thing though Jack & Jill are supporting families of children with terminal illness too.

I think it's great news. It'll give Fine Gael and Labour a kick up the backside they so richly deserve.

(By the way, I've never voted FF in my life)

Patsy is very comfortable chatting with Brendan. There is no way this interview would be as good if it was on the LLS.
