    Hi everyone
    I was hoping to get some advice on hostels in Lisbon. I am hoping to go there in April as I neeeeeeeed some sunshine I would love to get a nice hostels in a handy location near a beach... I can then switch location and get one in the city centre-ish location to do the touristy city stuff for a night or two but the ideal is to be somewhere nice, near a beach but also with a bit of character?? any suggestions? I realise my wishlist might be a bit much..

    Cascais is the beach area, about 40 minutes on the train outside Lisbon, very easy to get to, regular trains.

    There are no beaches in Lisbon, again Cascais is your best bet and easily reachable. I'd recommend Living Lounge Lisbon for a great hostel in a great location.

    Great thanks guys. I have just had a quick look at the Living Lounge - looks good and thanks for the tip. Is it near enough to the coastline or would it require a train etc to Cascais or is there nice walkways along this area too.... It would be good to be able to walk places. Thanks

    That hostel is in a great location in the historic part of the city and the city itself is on the coast but the coastline in the city isn't much to get excited about. Cascais is your best bet but I think there are other coastal towns and villages along the same train line closer into the city that might be worth seeing, though Cascais is the best for the beach.
