    Are you sure it is closed correctly? Steam vents at the back. Yours might be dodgy.

    Yes, saw that with mine too. Don't see it as a huge issue though.

    Most likely a faulty seal. I'd bring it back to Aldi. Doesn't vent through the handle for me.

    On a side note. Ive used it twice, perfect size for 2 people.

    Have the oil between the max and min marks, but after lowering the basket the oil surges up and spews out down the sides of the fryer.

    The home made chips were dried before putting them in.


    Am I lowering the basket too quickly could that be the problem.

    a mixture of the oil being too hot and lowering the basket too fast, same thing happened to me and i got an awful fright but its fine now,lower basket slowly

    I'll try that thanks, I got an awful freight, oil poured down around the thermostat, I was afraid a fire might start so switched everything off. Don't want that experience again:(
