    1.6L Mk 1 Focus Saloon

    1. The cup holders. More like shelves which can't even stop a can of coke from falling over if you can any corner at all.
    2. No remote central locking.
    3. No front heated windscree
    4. Leaves and other dirt gets between panel gaps and rests in the gaps around the boot and bonnet
    5. Changing front lightbulbs is horrible.

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

when reverse gear is selected, the back wiper blade turns on also. This is pain-full when the rubber is stuck with frost and ice on winter nights and you hear that noise the one That's going to cost you money.:(

That's pretty much standard though with rear wipers

Why oh why don't saloons have rear wipers?

Apart from that nothing apart from it being a pain to keep a black car clean!

BMW e60... Four annoying things are a) buffeting noise when you open the rear windows in motion and b) fact wipers force water into the passenger window if you have it open, c) no folding rear seat d) rear window demister interferes with radio reception.

Phew, feels good to let it out!

Hmm good thread, where do i start :pac:

Dashboard rattle at idle - not actually dashboard, firewall, had the whole dash out and still cant find it, sounds like a hammer drill working away at concrete.

Doesnt go over 130kmh, well it can, but not in any form of comfort or sanity.

    Does 28mpg when hypermiling

The tyres sound like jet engines and theres no sound insulation - anywhere - at all - i.e sounds like theres a door open ALL the time

all of the above are reasons that i love it too, and theres many many more good things :D

    2002 vw polo mk 4
The 1.2 i3 54 hp (god knows how many horses are in it now)
    The windy up drivers window
    The tape player
    No central locking.
    No alloy wheels.
No speakers in the back-just speaker covers on the paddy spec.
    The electric mirrors don't work
Heater only works on setting no. 4. Either it's really hot or too cold in the car.
The leak into the boot that cannot be traced.
The awful smell of damp that can't be removed (disappears for a few weaks) as a result of said leak.
The ****e thing that they call a wrench that they threw in with the spare tire.
    The horn (it sounds girly)
The amount of plastic on the dash
The miraculous medals that the previous owner had glued to the dash. Glue still remains. Miraculous medals stored under seat for fear of bad luck
Cigarette lighter won't charge phone unless charger is physically held in position.
The rear windscreen washer doesn't hit the windscreen sometimes.
Very slow when carrying 5 people.
Drinks petrol when carrying 5 people.
Gets 38mpg (not worth the savings)
The massive scratch I put in it when I got in a row with a girder in jervis st car park. Cost 180 to repair!:(
The prick who knocked the cover of my winger mirror last week but left mirror intact

    Positives
Car had 30000 miles on it and fsh when bought in 2010. Have put 30k miles on it since.
Unladen it's fairly nippy and easy to red line
Reached 150km/h with 5 people in it somehow on the way to mayo=turbelance:)
    Uses feck all oil
    Costs little to service
    Easy to keep clean inside.
Runs as smooth as a babies bottom.

All in all I absolutely hate it.

    Gear stick's really floppy
    Carpet impossible to keep clean

    Dayyyyyysel Peugeot 406

    Tamperproof injector pump
Bolloxed engine (burning oil at an alarming rate)
The dent on the door and rear quarter
No oil level guage in the dash
    Airbag light gremlin

Apart from those I really like my floppy smokey car

There's been a leak somewhere in my Golf for a while now. The windows are constantly fogged up which is annoying but yesterday a really bad, damp smell made itself very apparent :(

    Underpowered 108bhp engine
    No leccy mirrors

    Things i love:
    Aircon
    Quickclear windscreen

    2004 Nissan 350z

CD skips when car is cold (known issue)
Tramlines quite a bit on Irish roads (though I think it's my tyres)

Other than those small gripes, I love my car.

    06 2.0 TDI Passat

    - Boot line being so high that reversing it (especially when you then factor in the fairly useless single reverse light on this model) is a pain. Things like the metal posts that often line the edge of parking spaces disappear from the mirror long before the back of the car is anywhere near them.

Can't think of anything else I actually "hate" about the car. It's comfy, good on diesel, plenty of power when needed etc. The rest is more things I wish it had, like...

    - Heated seats
    - Front fogs
    - Steering wheel controls
    - Leather seats

The 04 3.0 TDI A6 I took for a spin on Wednesday had all those though...

It's just too powerful. I have a 640bhp R34 GTR and its my every day car. It' has a triple plate HKS clutch and driving around town is a nightmare. Poor me.

    Astra h 2008 1.3 cdti

    Not that powerful.
    No cup holders.
    No front foglights.
    No radio steering controls.
    No trip computer.
Sometimes I think the fuel gauge just randomly guesses how much fuel is in the car it fluctuate by over 1/6 of a tank when driving along.
Not that terribly economical compared to anyother diesel we have.
    No cruise control.
    No armrest.
Headroom is slightly limited my is always nearly touching the roof.

All the above is really only whay an ideal car should have.

    2007 volvo s40 1.8 petrol

    1. Cupholders are useless. Two shallow holes between me and the handbrake. Anything larger than a small coffee gets in your way changing gears or using the brake. You end up moving your arms around it.
    2. Appalling lack of storage. The door pockets are next to useless, there's a fidgety area behind the floating console, and a small area under the arm rest. The glove box is a little pokey too.
    3. Fairly large pillars can make visibility awkward.
    4. Crappy reverse light is next to useless in any kind of inclement weather
    5. Beeping for seat belts. If I put something on the passenger seat, I have to position it so it doesn't trip the over sensitive seat belt sensor. I didn't figure this out at first, and one day drove 25km home from work listening to high-pitched intermittent boop boop boop noise (it escalates from bing bing bing the faster you go), thinking I had a fault before I clicked what was going on.
    6. Fidgety clutch has to be released slowly due to a short bite
    7. Gear box is fidgety. 2-3 needs a split second of centering or it won't slot properly into 3rd. Between that and the clutch I scrape going into 3rd from time to time.

I do like the car though.
