Peugeot 206 causing problems

    Currently have a peugeot 206 LX1.1 Ltr (approx 106miles on it), the engine light has been on it for last few years , but this hasnt been causing any problems,it has been serviced regurlarly, and passed its nct with it, each time its serviced the light goes away but alway come back shortly which is fine as it doesnt seem to cause any issues, however in the past month twice has the engine light started flashing & beeping and there was a sudden drop in the speed (couldnt get over 10km last time), but next time i drove it (shorter jouney) it was fine, anyone have any similar issues
