was thinking after watching operation transformation about a new show rte could to. ok so everybody is bulking up now adays eg want to build up there biceps-triceps shoulders, get 6 packs. wouldnt it be cool to watch a few people over a few weeks doing this at first and to see there progress. maybe take someone who is big and needs to lose wieght in order to get the 6 pack and then a few others who are skinny and need to put on weight to build up the muscles.

TV seems to be all about going from fat to fit. It'd be good to see people going from weak to strong. Surely it'll have plenty of meltdowns that'll keep an audience glued

I watched the Kate Marsh doc where she became a bodybuilder. Brilliant stuff

I think that's a little unfair. She worked damn hard. She competed and placed in competitions in the US. Why bring down someone's efforts to take on a challenge?

Not a bad idea but RTE's head is in there arse. They'd rather show stupid nature programmes in the prime time slot for god sake. As for operation transformation... The RTE idiots don't even have a programme ( how are they doing a year later ). Sorry went off on a tangent there. Like your idea basically but give it to channel 4 maybe!

A television channel that gives free advertising to a religious cult at 6pm daily should never be expected to do anything useful.

It's easy to get to where she got when she was having all her meals prepped for her, a private trainer at her beckon call and all the free time she needed. Yes she went over to the US and placed in a comp. However it is well known that the comp in the US was of a way worse standard than that of the natural comps that she could have done in the UK. It was essentially a cop out to show Jodie travelling over there and "being competitive" in natural bodybuilding and out of it she got her own supplement brand...

Very well put! Not to mention all the bull**** in the doc about 40 days prep lol! Also she had zero muscle! Just low body fat! That's not bodybuilding...!

Her supps are a ****ing joke as is the advice she gives on twitter pushing them.

It'd be something TG4 would do

    best documentary station in Ireland

dr eva could be on it telling us how to get as many calerios or protein or whatever into our diet and then give us a good bollocking when we havnt put on enough weight for the next week. doubt karl would be up to the job of fitness though his idea of dumbells seems to be 1 litre bottles of water.

Me and my friends always talk about this, instead of the biggest loser it should be the biggest tank, loads of weedy lads hitting the creo getting swole, would watch religiously.

If it doesn't have fat women in bikinis dragging tractor tyres up a hill in the rain while a trainer screams abuse at her, I don't want to know about it.

it wouldn't sell advertising - ie fat loss foods and other gimmicks
so for RTE its a non runner

I'd rather hear about trainers progressing in deadlifts/squats over the space of 6 months etc than watching a bunch of clowns farting about doing BB curls and ab training.

Whatever about RTE, I wouldve thought that with every lumberjack, fur trapper and trawlerman getting his own TV show that at least 1 big gym somewhere in the states wouldve gotten a realty show by now.
Channel 4 had a show set in a gym a couple of years back. it wasnt the worst thing on TV
