National Classic Car show will be on the show tonight with 3 vehicles that will be on display in the RDS.

    Music from Simon Morgan.

    Let's play Blind Date! *shudder*

Plus, Ryan mentioned on his show this morning there will be 'something Supermac's related'

I can tell you that the hardy bucks will not be on the late late tonight.. not considered 'right' by the producers.. shame on them, two guys start out with an idea, become a huge internet hit end up on tv and now a film.. it is a story ireland needs.. but not on the late late...

I'm not a fan of hers but it appears she may have been unfairly treated by some members of An Garda Siochana. The Garda Ombudsman's report into her complaint should make for interesting reading. I think she is dead right to pursue it!

I'd say Clare p1ssed off the Gardaí a few weeks earlier, when she highlighted cases where the Gardaí erased points from high profile people's records, you can see why some members of the force might be keen to discredit her.

Welcome to Boards, SeamusDuil. The LLS has a fondness for misery so I can see why the producers rejected a success story.

We all had to start somewhere. I think my first post was a boring one about a faulty Sky box.

Don't see anything wrong with that. We all signed up at some stage. I'll watch it tonight but will probably regret it.

    Yes, that's about right.

I have a lot of time for Ryan as a person, he appears to be a very genuine guy, I loved when he presented Tubridy Tonight but he is not suited to the presenting the Late Late Show, in my opinion.

As for the lack of positivity, there was no end of positivity last Friday night, most people really enjoyed having Pat back and if you examine the thread there was very little negative comment. We are more than capable of praising people when they do a good job.

I've said before that I feel that Ryan's talents belong elsewhere, he is absolutely brilliant with children and the Toy Show is always his best LLS. The LLS is no longer the show it was, it just tends to be one long misery fest, going from one depressing item to another, it is not entertainment :( The Saturday Night Show is far from perfect but Brendan O'Connor does his best to make it as entertaining as possible for his audience.

    My guess for guests

    A financial expert
A survivor of the Magdalene Laundries
    Keith Duffy
That poor lady who owns the bridal shop who was attacked again

Shergar was kidnapped exactly 30 years ago today. 8th. February 1983. Could be something about it on the LLS

    Hollywood A-list alert...John C. Reilly!

Star of 'Talladega Nights' and the new Disney film 'Wreck-It Ralph' is on with his band John Reilly And Friends.

Plus music from Gabrielle 'song from that snowman ad' Aplin.

Disease of the week is lung cancer they are bringing in a commoner from the weste
to talk about her experience, no RTE celebrity with this disease was currently available.

There will also be a chief from the RTE canteen on to talk about working at RTE.

I'm gonna try the Late Late sober tonight as I have to work tomorrow... I am worrying that it's gonna be a bit like waking up the morning after with the "cracking bird" that you pulled the night before..

When they make a sequel make sure one of the Hardy Bucks gets sick during the promotion of the movie. The more miserable the symptoms the better. The LLS producers will be knocking their door down to get them on the show then.

Also get Saoirse Ronan and Twink to co-star, especially Twink.

If they're going to be discussing Lung Cancer, I'm going to switch channels

I'm just not able to cope with these depressing medical items anymore :( Medical issues deserve coverage but not on a Friday evening when we're all trying to relax after a busy week.

Nice ad for Pat McDonagh - tell everyone how great Supermacs is and how they can trace all their beef, no doubt.

The ad before the news made me cringe. Tubs saying they will have an American actor on telling us about his Irish roots. Oh FFS!!!!!!
I like John C Reilly but I couldn't give two hoots if he's Irish or not.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,718 ✭✭✭✭JonathanAnon

I'm beginning to think that the second late in "Late Late" is in reference to the fact that the topic they are discussing is about people who are dead (or dying).

Or cases that have just come out of court, like the woman who was raped by her father for years. I mean is a Friday night chat show really the forum for that in this day and age? They should really just keep it light, with the odd political/economic misery fest (which we all love)!
