    Hi I got the implanon contraceptive bar in 3 years ago in college and its due to come out now. My gp doesn,t do insertion or removal, the family planning clinic is closed down and I am not in college anymore. Where in Cork can I get it removed on the medical card?

    I'd phone your GP and ask them to recommend somewhere.
    It's usually GPs who do it, so it's likely just a case that yours hasn't done the relevant training for it.
    If no luck there, ring around a few surgeries and see if they'll do it for you. Be sure to tell them you have a medical card before you go in.
